NHỮNG ĐÓNG GÓP MỚI CỦA LUẬN ÁN
* Lần đầu tiên xây dựng được Danh lục cây thuốccủa 431 loài thuộc 321 chi, 124 họ, tại KBT Sao La kèm theo mẫu nghiên cứu. Đánh giá đa dạng và tiềm năng chữa trị của các loài cây thuốc có mạch nơi đây. Bổ sung thêm 212 loài cho danh lục các loài thực vật có giá trị dược liệu ở tỉnh do Lê Nguyễn Thới Trung cùng cộng sự tổng hợp và thống kê năm 2015.
* Đã phát hiện và công bố 03 loài mới cho khoa họclà: Tỏi hoa ẩn quả lông (Aspidistra heterocarpa Aver., Tillich & V. T. Pham var. echinata Aver., Tillich &
T. A. Le); Acranthera hoangii Hareesh & T.A. Le và đặc biệt loài Thu hải đường (Begonia saolaensis Y.M. Shui, T.A. Le & C.T. Vu) được đặt theo tên khu bảo tồn.
* Lần đầu tiên xây dựng cơ sở dữ liệu hóa học của loài Xà căn ba vì, đã phân lập được 9 hợp chất gồm 1 hợp chất mới lần đầu phân lập được trong tựnhiên(OB10: 3β,23,24–trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid)
* Đã đánh giá hoạt tính chống ung thư và kháng viêm của 9 hợp chất được phân lập từ loài Xà căn ba vì.
