Sustainable development must ensure harmony in all three aspects: economic, social and environmental. At the same time, we must ensure that what we do today meets the needs of human life in the present, but does not harm the satisfaction of the needs of future generations.
Through the Congresses, it has been shown that the Communist Party of Vietnam pays great attention to the issue of sustainable development. Based on the United Nations' viewpoint on sustainable development, our Party has made additions, improvements, and concretizations to be closely linked to Vietnam's reality. Our Party believes that: "Implementing social progress and equity in every step and every development policy; economic growth goes hand in hand with

with the development of culture, health, education..., effectively solving social problems for the goal of human development" [37, p. 77]. "Protecting and effectively using national resources, improving the natural environment" [37, p. 94]. This shows that when considering sustainable development, our Party pays great attention to economic, social and environmental factors as the United Nations' viewpoint on this issue.
Our country's viewpoint on sustainable development has been supplemented, concretized and developed with many new contents, which are both consistent with the general development trend of the contemporary world and demonstrate the current development characteristics of Vietnam. That is: "Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without harming the ability of future generations to meet those needs on the basis of closely and harmoniously combining economic growth, ensuring social progress and environmental protection".
