In terms of quality, if the water source is polluted, its composition is changed and it is not suitable for daily use. This change includes the physical, chemical and biological properties of the water, making the water toxic, affecting human health.
Thus, in terms of water quality, attention must be paid to the physical, chemical and biological properties of water. They are expressed in color, clarity, odor, temperature, radioactive properties, organic and inorganic substances in water, bacteria, etc. Standards for water quality in general or according to the purpose of use have been announced by the competent State agencies.
In addition to serving daily needs, water-containing terrains, mainly surface water, also create beautiful landscapes such as lakes, waterfalls, rivers, streams, etc. Water surface is a space for building tourist service facilities such as restaurants, floating hotels, marinas, etc. Floating hotels and restaurants are service facilities that attract many tourists thanks to their unique location, spectacular scenery and mobility.
Illustration 1.6: Some waterfalls in Vietnam
1. Ban Gioc Waterfall
Ban Gioc Waterfall, the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam, is one of the priceless gifts that nature bestowed on Cao Bang, located on the Vietnam-China border in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, 89 km from Cao Bang city.
Ban Gioc Waterfall is 53 m high and 300 m wide. From above, large blocks of water fall down through many limestone steps. In the middle of the waterfall, there is a large rock covered with green trees, dividing the river into 3 majestic, pristine white streams that rush down into different large and small waterfalls. Large blocks of water continuously flow down through many limestone steps, creating a white mist that flies halfway up the mountain. The steam rises, creating a mist like a white silk strip across the mountainside, both majestic and poetic. On sunny days, sunlight shines on the waterfall through the misty water, creating magical, shimmering rainbows.
The main waterfall has low terrain but the water flow is strong. Water strip
The wide left side overflows into a secondary waterfall with many thin "ribbons" of water interwoven, curving like a great, spontaneous curtain of nature. Therefore, Ban Gioc waterfall is likened to the pristine beauty of a Tay woman on a misty mountain top or like a fairy's forgotten hair hanging across the mountain top.
At the foot of Ban Gioc waterfall is the Quay Son river, flat as a mirror, crystal clear, reflecting the clouds and sky. Visitors can rent a bamboo mat to walk around the foot of the waterfall, rowing out to the middle of the stream to feel the charming beauty of the waterfall. On both sides of the river are poetic landscapes with rice fields and green grass. On spring days, the waterfall flows like gentle silk ribbons, creating a poetic and lyrical scene for the beauty of Cao Bang mountains and rivers. When summer comes, the Quay Son river is abundant, the waterfall truly shows off its majestic and powerful beauty. The steam from the waterfall meets the sun, creating extremely strange and interesting 7-color rainbows.
2. Prenn Waterfall
Prenn Waterfall is a beautiful waterfall in Lam Dong province. The waterfall has a gentle, graceful appearance like a curtain of water gently pouring from a height of 10 m into a small lake, surrounded by flowers and leaves and a rustling pine hill.
Prenn Waterfall is located at the foot of Prenn Pass, about 10 km from the center of Da Lat, along Highway 20. The name Prenn evokes a distant time around the 15th - 17th centuries, when the mountainous area here was still the battlefield boundary of wars of invasion and territorial defense. Prenn originally from Cham means "invaded area", while indigenous peoples such as Lat, Chil, Sré call the invaders "Prenn people".
To get to the waterfall, visitors must cross a short bridge across the stream that has been reinforced with concrete to prevent erosion. The path down to the waterfall is beautiful with stone steps hugging the hillside, arranged reasonably; visitors will see a curtain of water falling from a height of nearly 10m down to a small valley that has been edited into a flower garden, from here there are many beautiful paths leading up to the airy pine hills around.
Visitors can follow the paths leading to the zoo, orchid garden or leisurely stroll along the flower garden to admire the blooming flowers, the pretty huts on the treetops or swing along the suspension bridge across the small stream. From another angle, Thai Duong rock garden with its spontaneous arrangement creates an interesting surprise. Especially with the cable car system, visitors can cross the waterfall in a feeling of floating, as if entering a fairyland...
3. Dray Nur Waterfall
Dray Nur Waterfall is located 25 km from Buon Ma Thuot city, following Highway 14, passing Buon Kop Hydropower Plant nearly 3 km and this is a majestic waterfall that nature has bestowed upon Dak Lak. Dray Nur Waterfall is a midstream waterfall in the system of 3 waterfalls: Gia Long - Dray Nur - Dray Sap of Serepok River, Dak Nong Province. Dray Nur means female waterfall. Therefore, the waterfall is also commonly known as Wife Waterfall , this waterfall is also called Upper Dray Nur like Gia Long Waterfall, Lower Dray Nur located in Dak Nong Province. Dray Nur is located right next to Dray Sap Waterfall in Dak Nong Province and is only separated from Dray Sap by a suspension bridge crossing the Serepok River. Both are beautiful and majestic waterfalls. Dray Nur waterfall is little known because it is mistakenly thought to be part of the Dray Sap waterfall cluster, but in fact, when arriving here, the Serepok river splits into two small branches, flows down two waterfalls and merges below, not far away.
It is a combination of two rivers, the Krong Ana River (female river) and the Krong No River (male river), the two rivers blend together to form the legendary Serepok River in the Central Highlands. Coming to Dray Nur, the first feeling that comes to you is a majestic waterfall, the waterfall is over 250m long, over 30m high, and about 150m wide. The white foam and steam make the scenery around the waterfall poetic. But the most attractive thing is not admiring the waterfall but exploring and finding thrills in the nearly 3,000m2 cave behind the waterfall. Looking at the powerful, rushing water curtain pouring down from above, many people shudder. But for those who love
strong feeling, can experience the feeling of adventure when diving straight through the water curtain, feel the sting of water when it hits the head, the shoulder. The feeling from a place filled with light, immersed in the darkness of the cave. The safety of diving into the water curtain is quite high with life jackets for visitors to wear and professional swimmers arranged nearby. In addition, the waterfall is also special because behind the falling water there is a large cave. Therefore, people can go inside the water flowing from one side to the other without getting their clothes wet. When standing from inside the cave looking out at the long walls of water surrounding the front, the dim light illuminates the strangely shaped rocks.

Many types of tourism are developed based on the characteristics of water resources. For example
For example, mineral water serves medical tourism, poetic rivers with small flow rates are suitable for boat tourism activities, and waterfalls can be associated with adventure tourism.
Sea tourism has favorable conditions thanks to the cool climate allowing long rests, thanks to the sandy beaches along the coast so that you can both swim, sunbathe, and bathe in the fresh air. In general, the minimum acceptable temperature limit in the surface water is 18 0 C, for children it is above 20 0 C. Along with the above basic criteria, attention should be paid to the frequency and nature of the waves, the cleanliness of the water. The sea with slow coastal currents, clear water and moderate waves is suitable for swimming; large waves are suitable for surfing; clear water and many beautiful flora and fauna are suitable for scuba diving...
Among the water resources, mineral water must be mentioned. This is a valuable resource for health tourism and treatment.
Mineral water is natural water (mainly underground water) containing some special physical components (chemical elements, gases, radioactive elements,...) or has some physical properties (high temperature, pH,...) that have physiological effects on humans.
Up to now, there have been no unified regulations in the world on the lower limits of some criteria (such as chemical elements, mineralization, gas composition,...) to distinguish mineral water from normal water.
One of the most important uses of mineral water is for healing. Mineral water sources are an indispensable premise for the development of medical tourism. The healing properties of mineral water sources were discovered since the time of the Roman Empire. In the world, countries rich in famous mineral water sources are also countries that develop medical tourism such as Switzerland, Russia, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia...
To facilitate treatment, people have divided mineral water into the following groups:
- Carbonic mineral water is a precious mineral water group, which has the effect of quenching thirst and curing some diseases such as high blood pressure, mild atherosclerosis, and diseases of the peripheral nervous system. Famous sources of precious carbonic mineral water in the world are Vichi (France), Boczomi (Georgia), Wisbaden (Germany). In Vietnam, the most typical is Vinh Hao mineral water, exploited since 1928 until now with bottled mineral water products, exported to some countries in Southeast Asia, curing diabetes, liver, and food allergies.
- The group of silica mineral water is effective for digestive, neurological, rheumatic, gynecological diseases, etc. In the world, the famous silica mineral water is the Kuldur mineral water source (Russia). In Vietnam, the typical sources are Kim Boi mineral water source (Hoa Binh) and Hoi Van (Phu Cat, Binh Dinh). In these two places, sanatoriums have been built to treat diseases using silica mineral water.
- The bromine-iodine-boron mineral water group is effective in treating skin, neurological, gynecological diseases... Famous in the world are the mineral water sources Margeutheia and Fricarichshal (Germany). In Vietnam, there are two sources of this type of mineral water in Quang Hanh (Quang Ninh), Tien Lang (Hai Phong).
In addition, there are many other groups of mineral water (hydrosulfide, arsenic-fluoride, lithium; radioactive group...) with the ability to cure many different diseases.
Mineral water is a synthetic resource whose economic value and medical tourism are clearly demonstrated. In the world, the demand for tourism combined with convalescence, medical treatment, and the use of mineral water for refreshment has increased significantly. Medical tourism and convalescence at mineral water sources is increasingly attracting a large number of international tourists. Switzerland has over 7.5 million people, and each year welcomes 34 million visitors to stay at mineral water treatment resorts.
Annually, it brings in 10% of the national income. In France, Germany, and Italy, every year, millions of people travel for medical treatment at mineral water sources. Many famous tourist centers and tourist cities are associated with mineral water sources. Many famous tourist centers and tourist cities are associated with precious mineral water sources, typically Sotri, Caclovi Vari, Wisbaden, Vichy...
Water resources not only have a direct impact on tourism activities, as mentioned above. In addition, it also indirectly affects tourism through its impact on other components of the living environment, especially the climate around large water reservoirs,...

d. Flora and fauna
Nowadays, as people's living standards are increasingly improving, the need for rest, sightseeing and entertainment becomes urgent. The taste for tourism is also increasingly diverse.
diverse and rich. In addition to some traditional forms such as sightseeing, cultural and historical relics of mankind, some new forms have appeared, with great appeal to tourists. That is tourism in nature reserves with the visitors being animals and plants. Visiting the world of lively animals and plants in harmony with nature makes people love life more.
The reason why some African countries, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia attract a large number of tourists is partly because they know how to exploit natural potentials, including animal and plant resources and their diversity.
Not all living resources are the objects of tourism. To serve different tourism purposes, the following criteria have been proposed:
- Criteria for serving tourism purposes
+ Rich, unique and typical vegetation.
+ There are species typical of the region, endemic species, rare species in the world and in the country.
+ There are some animals (mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, fish,...) that are abundant or typical of the region.
+ There are types that can be exploited as specialties to serve the needs of tourists.
+ There are types that can be exploited as specialties to serve the needs of tourists.
+ Real, colorful animals are attractive and pleasing to the eye. Some common species are easy to observe with the naked eye, binoculars or by listening to their chirping and calls and can be photographed.
+ Roads (convenient trails for visitors to walk, observe and have fun.
- Criteria for sport hunting tourism:
+ Regulations on hunting species must be common species, not affecting the quantity and gene pool; the animal species must be active (underwater, on land, in trees) and agile, have relatively easy terrain, and be far from residential areas. In addition, the area for sport hunting must be relatively large, ensuring the range of the bullets and ensuring absolute safety for tourists. Prohibit the use of military guns, mines and dangerous explosives.
