A survey of the current status of influencing factors shows that the factors that have the greatest influence on the management of safe school construction and prevention of child accidents are: Awareness of managers about the work of building safe schools for child accidents; Managers coordinate with children's families and the Parents' Representative Committee; Educational viewpoints, teaching and learning programs; Awareness, skills and attitudes of participation of relevant forces; Guidelines and policies on building safe schools and preventing child accidents.
Therefore, through theoretical and practical research, we have proposed 05 measures to manage the construction of safe schools and prevent accidents and injuries in Pho Yen town, Thai Nguyen province, which are:
Measure 1: Organize to raise awareness for teachers and employees about the goals, content, methods and forms, as well as the management of accident and injury prevention for children;
Measure 2: Training and coaching skills in building safe schools and preventing accidents and injuries to preschool children for managers, teachers and employees.
Measure 3: Build and use an educational environment that ensures safety for children.
Measure 4: Mobilize forces inside and outside the school to build safe schools and prevent accidents and injuries for children in preschools.
Measure 5: Direct innovation in inspection and evaluation of activities to prevent student injuries to build safe schools.
Through testing, the above 5 measures are all assessed as ensuring the necessity, feasibility and being able to improve the effectiveness of managing injury prevention activities in Pho Yen Town, Thai Nguyen Province under the condition of thoroughly understanding the requirements of each measure during the implementation process.
2. Recommendations
2.1. For the Party Committee and government of Pho Yen town, Thai Nguyen province
- The Party Committee and the government of Pho Yen town need to pay more attention to investing in preschool education, building infrastructure, increasing funding for educational activities in general and building safe schools and preventing accidents for children in particular.
- The Party Committee and the government of Pho Yen town need to have special policies and treatment regimes for preschool teachers according to state regulations to help ensure teachers' lives and give them more time to focus on educating children.
2.2. For the Department of Education and Training of Pho Yen town
- The Department of Education and Training of Pho Yen town creates conditions for cadres, teachers and employees to have the opportunity to participate in studying and improving their knowledge and capacity to excellently complete their tasks.
- The Department of Education and Training of Pho Yen town needs to have synchronous direction and inspection of educational work from the Ministry, Department, Division and kindergartens.
- The Department of Education and Training of Pho Yen town closely coordinates with local authorities to mobilize social participation in the construction of physical facilities, creating conditions for schools to effectively implement the goal of ensuring PCTNTT safety for children, contributing to increasingly better child care, and to propagate and mobilize the masses to join hands in caring for preschool education so that schools can fulfill their tasks well, contributing to the implementation of the common goals set by the Party and the State.
2.3. For the Board of Directors of kindergartens in Pho Yen town
- The Board of Directors of preschools needs to take measures to raise awareness of staff, teachers and employees on the issue of building safe schools and preventing accidents and injuries for children so that each staff, teacher and employee in the school needs to be aware that: Ensuring safety and accident prevention for children is the common work of the school.
In school, every member of the school must have the right and responsibility to participate in this work to contribute to the movement and quality of the school increasingly improving.
- The principals of preschools strengthen coordination between families, schools and localities in preschool education.
- The Board of Directors of preschools directs continuous investment in additional facilities and propaganda to raise awareness among parents and the whole society about the importance of ensuring PCTNTT safety in particular and preschool education in general for children's development.
- The Board of Directors of kindergartens directs the training of knowledge on building safe schools and preventing accidents for children for parents so that children are absolutely safe at school as well as at home, and are cared for and educated in better conditions. Focus on ensuring safety while organizing children's meals, signing full and legal food contracts, and implementing food hygiene and safety well to prevent food poisoning in kindergartens.
- The Board of Directors of kindergartens needs to strengthen inspection and supervision of the organization of activities to build safe schools and PCTNTT of teachers and staff.
2.4. For teachers of kindergartens in Pho Yen town
- Preschool teachers fully participate in professional training courses organized by the Department of Education and Training and the school. Preschool teachers observe each other's classes to improve the quality of care and education in order to contribute ideas and gain experience.
- Preschool teachers self-educate themselves with basic knowledge about how to PCTNTT for children in school. Preschool teachers propagate and educate young parents about the content and form of ensuring PCTNTT safety for children, especially focusing on competitions organized by all levels.
