(i) Using the spatial distribution method in addition to the aggregate method to measure the penetration of foreign banks; (ii) Examining the impact of the penetration method of foreign banks on the competition and efficiency of Vietnamese commercial banks; (iii) Examining the impact of foreign bank penetration on the competition and efficiency of Vietnamese commercial bank groups.

In chapter 5, the study synthesized the research results, analyzed the development orientation of the Vietnamese banking industry, and the penetration trend of foreign banks in Vietnam. Based on the research results, the strategic orientation of the banking industry development, and the penetration trend of foreign banks, the study proposed groups of solutions for commercial banks and some recommendations for banking management agencies to enhance integration, promote competition and improve the efficiency of commercial banks.
