INTRODUCTION


1. Reason for choosing the topic

Education and Training play a huge role in the socio-economic development of each country in the world. Lessons from the "miraculous" development of the economies of Japan, Korea, ... and some other countries have shown that educational development is a fundamental factor to accelerate socio-economic growth. Education must go one step ahead, education is the top national policy, investment in education is investment in development, creating rapid and sustainable development for each country. Therefore, any country, big or small, developed or developing, must always pay attention to education, in which education management is the first and foremost factor. Education management is the key to ensuring the success of all educational activities.

Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW of the 8th Conference of the 11th Central Executive Committee on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training, meeting the requirements of industrialization and modernization in the conditions of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration, determined: “For general education, focus on developing intelligence, physical strength, forming qualities and civic capacity, discovering and nurturing talents, and providing career orientation for students. Improve the quality of comprehensive education, focusing on education on ideals, traditions, ethics, lifestyle, foreign languages, information technology, practical capacity and skills, and applying knowledge to practice…” [8]. This is also considered an important solution to improve the quality of education and training.

Faced with the requirements of innovation in the cause of national construction and defense, the rapid and strong development of the socio-economy, of science and technology in general and educational science in particular, the current curriculum and textbooks have revealed limitations. Therefore, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 88/2014/QH13 on innovation of the general education curriculum.

In the context of many innovations in Vietnamese education, in addition to natural sciences, Literature is a subject of Social Sciences - Humanities, a tool for students to study and live, perceive society and people, and cultivate ideology and personality. Although Literature has its own characteristics, like other subjects, it is necessary to innovate the program content to be more suitable and meet the demands of society. From the innovation of the general education program, the teaching and learning of Literature also has

changes, it affects the teaching, testing, evaluation activities of teachers and the learning of students. Therefore, the management of teaching and learning activities of Literature according to the new general education program in secondary schools needs adaptive changes.

In recent years, the management of teaching activities in secondary schools in Quang Ninh province in general and Mong Cai city in particular has still followed the traditional way that was formed many decades ago... The way of managing teaching activities of schools in general and Literature subject in particular is mostly based on self-learning experience, so it has not met the requirements of current innovation.

Based on the above reasons, we chose the issue of "Management of teaching and learning activities of Literature subject according to the new general education program in secondary schools in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province" as the topic of our thesis research.

2. Research purpose

Based on theoretical and practical research, the thesis proposes a number of measures to manage teaching and learning activities of Literature subject according to the new general education program in secondary schools in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning Literature subject in secondary schools, meeting the requirements of current general education innovation.

3. Research object and subject

3.1. Research object

4. Scientific hypothesis

Teaching Literature according to the new general education program in secondary schools in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province has been implemented but there are still limitations in management such as: content, teaching methods, teaching organization; forms of testing and evaluation... Therefore, if management measures are proposed and implemented in accordance with the practical situation, the effectiveness of teaching Literature according to the new general education program in secondary schools in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province will be improved.

5. Research tasks

5.1. Research on theoretical basis of managing teaching activities of Literature subject according to the new general education program in secondary schools.

5.2. Survey and evaluate the current status of management of teaching and learning activities of Literature subject according to the new general education program in secondary schools in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province.

5.3. Proposing some measures to manage teaching and learning activities of Literature subject according to the new general education program in secondary schools in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province.

6. Scope of research of the topic

- Regarding the survey area: Survey at 8 junior high schools in Mong Cai City. Specifically: Junior high schools (Van Ninh, Ninh Duong, Hoa Lac, Ka Long, Hai Yen, Hai Hoa, Hai Dong, Hai Tien).

- Total number of survey subjects: 215 people, including 35 managers, 120 teachers of Literature and 160 students in surveyed secondary schools.

7. Research methods

To solve the above research tasks, we use a combination of the following methods:

7.1. Theoretical research methods

Analyze, synthesize, compare, and systematize theoretical documents such as theoretical research on management of teaching and learning activities in Literature; research on policies, Directives, and Resolutions of the Party, State, and the Ministry of Education and Training on education development strategies in general and secondary education in particular to build a theoretical framework for the topic.

7.2. Practical research methods

7.2.1. Observation method

Conduct observations on the organizational forms of managers, the implementation of teaching and learning activities of Literature according to the new general education program of teachers and students of secondary schools to collect practical information for the topic.

7.2.2. Questionnaire survey method

This method is used to survey the needs, awareness, and evaluation of the subjects of the investigation on management activities and teaching activities of Literature according to the new general education program at secondary schools in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province.

7.2.3. Interview method

Conduct interviews with a number of managers and teachers of Literature at the surveyed secondary schools to learn more about the advantages and difficulties in the process of teaching Literature and managing Literature teaching activities according to the new general education program to contribute to clarifying the current situation.

7.2.4. Product research methods

Researching products of teaching and learning activities such as: lesson plans, class records... of teachers; tests, exams of students... to supplement practical information for the topic.

7.2.5. Method of obtaining expert opinions

This method is used to seek opinions from experts, managers, and teachers with extensive experience in teaching on the development and proposal of measures to manage teaching and learning activities of Literature according to the new general education program in secondary schools, and at the same time to check the necessity and feasibility of the proposed measures.

7.3. Methods of data processing using mathematical statistics

Use some statistical formulas such as calculating average, percentage... to process practical research results.

8. Structure of the thesis

In addition to the Introduction; Conclusion, Recommendations; References, Appendix, the main content of the thesis includes:
