1. Massage the head, face and neck area:

- Forehead massage: Place two fingers parallel to the forehead, pull the hand towards the temple and massage the temple acupoint. The technique is done in a fan shape.

- Massage forehead: use 1-2 fingers to massage all over forehead.

- Find the pain point and press the pain point: pay attention to the good or bad effect.

- Press and acupressure points: Acupressure point, Temple, Indang, Yangbai….

1.1.2. Massage the Eye area:

- Massage the eye area: Use the index and middle fingers of both hands to place on the inside of the eyebrow arch, rub in a circular motion from the inside to the outside of the eyebrow, down past the cheekbones and then into the nose, up inside the nose to the forehead, inside the eyebrow.

- Acupressure along the eyebrow arch: use your fingers to press the acupressure points along the eyebrow arch from the inside out.

- Knead the eyebrows: Use your thumb and fingertips, knead from one eyebrow to the other.

- Rub the curve of the eyebrows: Use the thumb above and the index finger below the eyebrows, use and pull the index finger towards the tail of the eye to rub the curve of the eyebrows, keeping the thumb in place.

- Stroke the eyeball: use 2 fingers, finger 2 on the upper eyelid, finger 3 on the lower eyelid, stroke from inside to outside. within the tolerance of the eye.

- Eyelid massage : use 1 finger to massage the upper and lower eyelids from inside to outside.

- Press and massage the acupoints around the eyes: Tinh minh, Ngu yeu, Ty truc khong, An duong, Toan truc, Thua khap, ...

- Cheek massage: Use your fingertips to massage your cheeks in circular motions from the bottom up to the chin, then up to the cheeks on both sides.

- Massage cheeks: Use fingertips to massage from chin to ear in 3 lines: lower lip, upper lip, 2 sides from nose to ear.

- Squeeze the cheek muscles: Place your hand close to your cheek and squeeze the cheek muscles from the chin to the ear along 3 lines: lower lip, upper lip, 2 sides from the nose to the ear.

- Knead the cheek muscles: Press both hands close to the cheeks and knead the cheek muscles from the chin to the ears in 3 directions: lower lip, upper lip, 2 sides from the nose to the ears.

- Cheek massage: Use the thumb and little finger of your hand to massage your cheeks.

- Cheek vibration: Place both hands close to the cheeks and vibrate the cheek muscles at a fast frequency.

- Find the pain point and press the pain point.

- Press and massage acupoints: Earth Merchant, Human Middle Point, Prime Minister, Yingxiang, Power, Armor, Lower Officer….

1.2.Head area

- Press the hair roots: Use your fingertips to perform the spring-shaped pressing technique.

- Comb your hair: use your fingers to comb your hair, straight and horizontally, while combing, gently pull the hair roots.

- Pat the head : use the tips of your fingers to pat around the head, in two opposite directions, pat twice.

- Head knock : use the finger chopping technique: clasp both hands together and impact the head area.

- Squeeze the head : use the thumb on one side and the remaining fingers on the other side to squeeze, squeeze the head from bottom to top with both hands.

- Find the painful point (acupoint) and massage the painful point : depending on whether the painful point is acupoint or acupoint, massage appropriately.

- Press and massage acupoints: Dau Duy, Bach Hoi, Phong Phu, Phong Tri. Tu Than Thong, Thai Duong, E Phong. Use appropriate acupoints depending on the location.

- Vibration: Hold your head with both hands and perform the vibration technique at a fast frequency.

1.3. Massage the neck area while lying on your back

- Press the Phong Tri acupoint, use the tips of your fingers to rub in circles with moderate pressure to stimulate the acupoint.

- Squeeze the trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscles from the head down to the shoulder.

- Squeeze the nape of each neck side then squeeze both sides evenly.

- Shoulder stroke: use your thumb to stroke from neck to shoulder.

- Muscle vibration: Use your hands to press against the neck muscles and vibrate from the shoulders towards the nape of the neck.

1.4. Indications: Prevention and treatment of head, face, neck and nape diseases

- Nervous:

o Pain of the V, VII nerves

o Pain in nerve roots and nerves, muscle plexus, facial paralysis

- Muscle: Muscle atrophy, contraction of muscles in the head, face and neck area.

- Blood vessels, circulatory insufficiency in the neck and brain, high blood pressure

- Headache due to weather, work or external factors

- Insomnia

- Dizziness, heaviness, headache due to internal injury or .

1.5. Contraindications :

High fever, cancer, tuberculosis of the cervical spine.

Local infections in the maxillofacial region.

1.6. Head and neck diseases:

Head disease: Massage the head area to add:

- Pain in the front half of the forehead, press Baihui, Yintang, and Neiting points.

- Pain in the neck and back of the head, press Baihui, Fengchi, Kunlun, and Houxi points.

- Pain in the temporal region, half of the head press the temples, foot lin khap, wind pond, and bai hui.

- For headache, press Baihui, Sishentong, and Taichong points.

- Headache with chills, mild fever, body aches, stuffy nose, press Hop Coc, Phong Tri, and Uy Trung points.

- If accompanied by dizziness, bitter mouth, pain on both sides of the ribs, press Qimen, Tuc Lam Khap, Thai Xung.

- If you have intermittent headaches, severe headaches when thinking, fatigue, laziness to talk, and fear of activity, press Quan Nguyen, Khi Hai, and Thai Bach.

- If accompanied by bloating, heartburn, nausea, press Zhongguan, Zusanli, and Fenglong.

- If accompanied by dizziness, vertigo, tinnitus, back pain, difficulty sleeping, anxiety, palpitations, press Can du, Tuc tam ly, Thieu hai, Nei quan.

Peripheral VII nerve palsy: mainly massage the facial area on the paralyzed side, pay attention to restoring movement of the paralyzed facial muscles using acupressure points on the facial area on the paralyzed side and combining movements.

Head and neck dysfunction:

Allergic rhinitis: facial massage combined with nasal massage:

- Use your index and middle fingers to massage the bridge of your nose from bottom to top and from top to bottom.

- Place your index finger on the junction between the bone and cartilage on the bridge of the nose: press.

- Massage the Yingxiang point 10 times.

- Use your index and middle fingers to rub the base of the other nostril.

- Bend and stroke the tip of the nose back and forth 5-10 times.

- Right hand thumb rubs from the forehead towards the hairline 9-12 times until the skin in that area turns red.

- Next, press the Phong Tri, Khuc Tri, and Hop Coc acupoints.

Insomnia: Massage the head and neck area to increase the effect.

- Gently press the acupoints of Yintang, Taiyang, Fengchi, Shenmen, and Anmien.

- If accompanied by back pain, spermatorrhea, impotence, cold limbs, press the Kidney Travel, Mingmen, and Guanyuan points.

- If you are irritable, forgetful, dizzy, have tinnitus, press Thai xung and Am lang tuyền.

- If you have poor appetite, pale skin, and are very tired, press Gongsun, Zusanli, and Xuehai points.

Flu: Massage the head and neck area: to improve headaches, back pain, body aches...

- wind-cold , the technique should be soft, slow, penetrating the skin, to warm up, dispel wind-cold : Rub the head, neck and nape of the neck combined with stroking the spine from top to bottom and from bottom to top. If stuffy nose, runny nose : add more massage of Yin Tang, Ying Xiang to clear the nose.

- If you have a cold with wind heat , the procedure needs to be quick and strong to quickly achieve the effect of inducing sweating and reducing fever; if you have a high fever , acupuncture at Hegu and Quchi points to reduce fever.

Do the above movements 15-20 times each. Press and massage the acupoints for 1-2 minutes.

2. Massage the neck area

Posture of the person being massaged: Sit on a chair with both hands across the chest, lean on the chair to relax the chest muscles, trapezius muscles, shoulder and neck muscles.

Massage therapist's position: Stand behind the patient to perform the technique.

Operation technique:

- Shoulder massage : Place both hands close to the neck, move over the shoulders, palms up from the neck to the shoulders. Can massage with talcum powder or lubricant.

- Rub: Use your fingertips to rub from the shoulder blade up to the neck and along both sides of the spine.

- Muscle massage: Use your hands to massage the muscles, trapezius muscle, deltoid muscle, sternocleidomastoid muscle, and muscles around the cervical spine.

- Knead the muscles: Use both hands to pinch the muscles up and knead the large muscles such as the trapezius, deltoid, and sternocleidomastoid muscles.

- Massage muscles: Use the base of your hand to massage the muscles on your shoulder, using gentle, light movements.

- Roll : the triangle area of ​​Phong Tri, Dai Chuy, Kien Tinh.

- Press the most painful point: find and press the painful point, pay attention to the degree of pressure or pressure, and press from light to heavy as appropriate.

- Acupressure points: Phong phu, Phe du, Doc du. Phong tri, Dai chuy, Kien tinh,...

- Neck joint movement: neck rotation, neck tilt, neck extension, combination of movements...

- Shoulder massage: massage the Fengchi point, massage the neck, massage the shoulders, and play with the shoulders.

- Muscle massage: Use both hands to massage the little finger and thumb from the shoulder area to the nape of the neck and vice versa.

- Muscle vibration: Use your hand to press against the neck and vibrate at high frequency from the neck to the shoulders on both sides.

Indication : prevention and treatment of neck and shoulder diseases.

- Neurological pain in the nerves, nerve roots of the cervical plexus.

- Muscle pain , muscle spasms in the neck area, especially the sternocleidomastoid, trapezius, deltoid and other muscles around the neck.

- Other spinal diseases such as: Spinal degeneration, rheumatoid arthritis of the cervical spine.

- Shoulder joint: Periarthritis of the shoulder.

- Neck pain due to cold, due to posture.

Contraindications :

- Skin and muscle infections of the shoulder, neck and shoulder area.

- Cervical lymphadenitis, lymphadenopathy.

- Lymphosarcoma, hogkin's disease.

- Bone tuberculosis, spinal cancer and general contraindications as presented in previous sections.

3. Back massage

Position of the person being massaged : Lie on your stomach, place both hands along your body, breathe evenly and relax.

Massage techniques

- Rub the back: Press both hands close from the neck, move over the shoulder, through the deltoid muscle, put the circle around the shoulder bone, pull the arm straight down to the sacrum, circle the arm over the pelvis, then swing the hand up towards the back. Create a circle back to the neck.

- Hand-to-hand movement on the body: Both hands are pressed close to the skin of the person being massaged when performing the technique of 2 hands perpendicular to each other moving on the back.

- Massage: Use the fingertips of both hands to massage:

Massage the muscles on both sides of the spine : use your fingertips to press firmly on the patient's skin and move along the spine.

Massage the muscles on both sides of the pelvis : use your fingertips to press firmly on the patient's skin and on both sides of the pelvis.

Rub the muscles on both sides of the rib cage : use your finger prints to press firmly on the patient's skin and move on both sides of the rib cage.

Muscle massage: Use your hands to massage the patient's back muscles.

Kneading the muscles: Two hands grasp the muscles and twist them diagonally along the length of the back muscles.

Punch tight: hold the hand loosely, use the edge of both hands to form the little finger to perform the punching technique on the back muscles.

Muscle rolling: Clasp both hands, interlace thumbs when performing the palm-down technique, shake wrists and roll upper muscles from the buttocks to the neck on the back muscles or roll using the knuckles: 3,4,5 moving on the back.

Muscle sliding (pinching the muscles next to the spine): Use two thumbs and fingertips to perform the technique by pinching the skin and sliding the muscles horizontally and vertically on the back area.

Muscle stroking: The hand is pressed close to the skin of the person being massaged, stroking from the neck and shoulders down to the buttocks, can be stroked straight, horizontally or in a zigzag pattern.

Find the pain points in the back and spine: massage from light to heavy according to the position or good position.

Press the following acupoints : Dai Chui, Dai Tru, Phe Du, Cach Du, and Than Du. Ming Men, Heart Du, Cach Du, Liver Du, Gallbladder Du, Spleen Du, Stomach Du, Kidney Du, Large Intestine Du, Small Intestine Du, and Bladder Du.

Muscle vibration : Press your hand against your back and vibrate the muscles from the neck and shoulders down to the waist.

Lateral spinal twist: The patient lies on his side. The doctor stands behind the patient, one hand on the shoulder and one hand on the anterior superior iliac spine, moving suddenly in the front-back direction. Switch sides.

Buttocks area : Massage the muscles: Use the fingertips of both hands to massage the muscles of the buttocks area.

o Muscle massage: Use both hands to massage the muscles of the buttocks.

o Kneading muscles: Use both hands to cross the buttocks muscles.

o Muscle vibration: Use both hands to press against the muscle and vibrate at a fast frequency.

Note when massaging the back and buttocks area :

Depending on time, you can do each movement 5-15 times.

Implement correct technical procedures for each area

When performing the procedure, the doctor should stand and be comfortable.

Always ask the person being massaged about the intensity of the movements to adjust the technique.

Indications :

People with back pain, muscle contraction.

People with increased back muscle tone

Spinal pain leads to back pain

Pain in nerve roots or nerves causes muscle atrophy.

Scoliosis

Fatigue due to work, travel, exercise.

Back pain is caused by various causes related to muscles, joints, ligaments, or internal organs; Nervous breakdown (intestinal disease, gastroduodenal syndrome, genital and urinary diseases...) often causes pain at the corresponding acupoints.

Contraindications :

Acute infections of the skin, joints and back.

Tumors, bone tuberculosis, bone cancer, joints in the back area.

High fever.

Blood disease, bleeding disorder, etc.

Back diseases: back pain: Back massage combined with back arching and twisting movements.

Press the attachment points at the head and tail of the contracted muscle segment (relax the muscle).

Squeezing the tendons: if the patient is in too much pain to lie prone, use your thumb to squeeze a nerve branch that goes from the neck to the shoulder in the supraclavicular fossa. Squeeze 1-2 times, then massage this point for 1 minute. Next, squeeze the tendons in the painful spine area and then massage the place where the tendon was squeezed for 1 minute. After that, the patient will be able to bend or squat easily.

If you still feel tension in the gluteal muscles when bending over; let the person lie on their stomach, squeeze the tendons at the 1/3 outer and 2/3 inner iliac crests, then massage for one minute.

Finally twist your back .

4. Upper limb massage

The patient sits , the doctor stands behind the patient on the side of the massage scale.

Either the patient lies down , the doctor sits or stands next to the arm that needs massage.

Massage the entire upper limb: One hand of the doctor holds the hand of the person being massaged. The other hand uses the doctor's fingertips to press against the hand and the fingertips being massaged move from the palm straight up the inside of the forearm to the elbow, wrap the hand around the elbow to the triceps muscle group of the arm and then pull the hand back. The hand presses against the

Finger Massage :

Massage the finger joints . Use the doctor's fingertips to rub and massage from the tip to the base of the patient's finger.

Finger rotation: use 2 fingers placed on the knuckles and move in 2 opposite directions.

Play: 2 hands hold fingers and move in opposite directions

Finger joint movement: (rotation, extension, adduction, flexion, extension, stretching) of fingers.

o Finger rotation: use fingers 1 and 2 of the left hand to hold the metacarpal of the finger that needs to be rotated, fingers 1 and 2 of the right hand to hold the tip of the finger that needs to be rotated, then rotate clockwise and counterclockwise.

o Finger extension: use the patient's 3rd finger as a reference, move the fingers from near the 3rd finger away to extend the fingers.

o Close the fingers: use the patient's 3rd finger as a reference, bring the fingers from the distance closer to the 3rd finger to close the fingers.

o Finger flexion: The fingers further away from position 0 are flexed, meaning the fingers are bent towards the palm.

o Finger extension: The closer the fingers are to position 0, the more extended they are, meaning the fingers are straight out towards the back of the hand.

o Finger stretching: use 2 fingers of the doctor to clamp the patient's finger in the middle, pull strongly along the finger, you can hear a clicking sound.

Hand Massage :

Palm:

o Palm rub: Place the person being massaged's hand between the therapist's two hands: and rub the palms.

o Palm press: Use two thumbs to press the palm of your hand alternately.

o Palm massage: Use the doctor's thumb and little finger to massage the palm.

o Rub the palm bones : Use 2 thumbs to rub the palm bones alternately.

Back of hand:

o Rub the back of the hand: Place the person being massaged's hand between the therapist's two hands: and rub the back of the hand.

o Rub the interstices of the palm : Use your thumb to rub the interstices of the palm bones alternately.
