- Other subjects: Could be the former guards at that location or people who were previously attached to the area; people near that area who know a lot about the group of men who have sex with men/male homosexual prostitutes.

AGREEMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN RESEARCH
This research consent form provides you with the information you need to decide whether or not to participate in this research study.
Research Objective : HIV and sexually transmitted infections remain a pressing global problem. We are conducting a scientific study related to risk behavior among young men in Vietnam. The aim of the study is to better understand risk behavior in order to develop more effective intervention programs. We invite you to participate in a short interview as part of this study.
Voluntary Participation : Participation in the study is completely voluntary. You may refuse to answer any questions that make you uncomfortable, and you may stop participating in the interview at any time.
Study Procedures : The purpose of the interview is to collect information about behaviors that contribute to increased risk of infection, including HIV and sexually transmitted diseases. If you decide to participate in the study, we will ask you to participate in a face-to-face interview with a researcher. This interview will include questions about personal behaviors and will last about 1 hour. In addition, we will ask you to participate in a test performed by a doctor in the study. The test involves taking 5ml of blood and samples from the throat, genitals and anus. The purpose of the test and sample collection is to assess whether you have one of the following STIs: Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Chlamydia, HPV (Human Papillomavirus), Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV.
All medical information and specimens will be labeled with a personal identification number. Your name will not appear in any part of the study, except this agreement to participate.
Test results are available in about a week and a doctor is always available in the office to give you your results and discuss any questions you may have. If your blood test is positive for an STI, you will receive treatment for that STI free of charge in our study. If your blood test is positive for HIV, our doctor can help you get in touch with an HIV treatment center in your community.
Risks and Benefits : Some of the questions in the study are quite personal and may make you uncomfortable. You can refuse to answer any questions that make you uncomfortable. However, make sure that the information you or others in the study provide can lead to effective STD and HIV prevention and care.
Compensation and expenses : To compensate you for your time participating in the study and travel expenses, we will send you 150,000 VND
Confidentiality : Any personal information you provide in the study will be kept strictly confidential. You will be given a unique identification number and your name will not be recorded in the interview or on the test form. The person interviewing you is a member of the research team. The procedures used in this study, including the confidentiality of personal information, have been approved by the Ministry of Health.
