H. BANK OF INDOCHINA AFTER 1975
In 1975, the Bank of Indochina (Banque de L'Indochine) merged with Banque de Suez et de L'Union Mines des to form Banque de Suez. The merger brought together the business skills, reputation and brand of the Bank of Indochina, combined with the Banque de Suez et de L'Union Mines des, which had a large presence in Europe, to form a stronger system when the economic and political conditions in the world at that time had changed greatly. On the other hand, taking advantage of the capacity of the Bank of Indochina, which now had a large network in Asia and the Middle East, the name of Banque de Suez et de L'Union Mines des would be a global name. In 1981, the name of the Bank of Indochina was shortened to Banque Indosuez. The headquarters in East Asia is located in Singapore on Robinson Road.
In Vietnam, in 1992, Banque Indosuez officially returned, marking the return of the shadow of the Indochina Bank after 100 years of glorious operation and today there is still a successor.
In 1996, Banque Indosuez was acquired by Credit Agricole Bank in a move to increase the institution's financial investment presence, and was renamed Credit Agricole Indosuez Bank.
In 2004, Credit Agricole Indosuez merged with the investment banking division of Credit Lyonnais, and was acquired by Credit Agricole to form Calyon Bank.
On April 20, 2010, Calyon Bank Vietnam officially changed its name to Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank Vietnam. Credit Agricole CIB is the first foreign bank operating in Vietnam since 1992 with two branches in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In 2009, Credit Agricole CIB received the award " Best Credit Bank " from Asset Magazine.
Thus, after 100 years of operation, although the name of the Bank of Indochina is no longer present, its reputation and illustrious career still leave a strong mark on the banking industry. In Vietnam, the Bank for Enterprises and Investment
Crédit Agricole Vietnam is considered the descendant of the Bank of Indochina, still operating very effectively, making positive contributions to the current economic development of Vietnam.
