Comment :

- The allowance regime at the company is quite diverse. In addition to the salary based on working time, the monthly income of normal production workers can increase by 850,000 VND/month from allowances.

- The time to adjust the fuel allowance is unreasonable. Currently, the company has increased the fuel allowance to 300,000 VND/month . Most employees are satisfied with this adjustment.

- The attendance allowance regime is quite strict. If a worker swipes his/her card more than 3 minutes late at one time, 100% of the attendance allowance and attendance bonus will be deducted for the next 2 months. This leads to fraud in swiping the attendance card.

- Applying skill allowances can motivate workers to improve their skills, ensuring product quality and productivity for the company.

- The company has proactively added garment industry allowances to the company's allowance regime. This is considered a toxic allowance in the harsh working environment of the garment industry that the company has included to compensate for some of the hardship that employees have to endure.

- Without a work-over allowance, company employees still bring work home. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich - Human Resources Department employee said: ''When someone is absent, the remaining people in the department will handle the work, if they don't have time, they will take it home to do, and the same will happen next time when it's someone else's turn . ''


3.2.2.3 Social assistance

a. Unemployment benefits

6 months basic salary for employees with more than one year of seniority.

Half a month's salary for employees with less than one year of seniority.

b. Severance pay

The company only applies severance allowance to employees until December 31, 2008. Since January 1, 2009, the company has paid unemployment insurance, so the severance allowance for employees is paid by the insurance agency.

In addition to the two types of subsidies mentioned above, the company does not apply any other social subsidies that the company builds itself.


3.2.2.4 Benefits

a. Health care

- Periodic health check-up :

Every year, the company organizes periodic health check-ups for employees. Thanks to the cooperation with the prestigious medical organization Dong Nai Hospital, employees have promptly detected some dangerous diseases in women and diseases related to vision. Therefore, when having periodic health check-ups, employees do not hesitate and consider it a necessary thing to do.

- Pregnancy check-up :

For pregnant female employees, the company provides health care for them. According to regulations, pregnant female employees are entitled to 5 days off for regular prenatal checkups. The company ensures that they receive full salary and attendance allowance during prenatal checkups.

- Medical work :

The medical room is fully equipped with necessary tools to support timely first aid such as oxygen tanks, medicine and other medical equipment.

For workers who get sick due to the weather, the company has provided cold-proof jackets and medical masks.

The company has its own vehicle to take employees home if their health does not allow them to continue working.


b. Sell premium products at preferential prices

For products still in stock, the company organizes a discount sale for employees at prices 7-8 times lower than the price on the label. The quality of these products remains unchanged.

Each employee will be eligible for discounted purchases equal to or less than 20% of each person's income.

c. Giving gifts

Birthday

Every month, the company organizes a lucky draw for employees whose birthday falls within the month. Each person receives a very meaningful and useful gift.For example : dinnerware set, water heater.

- International Women's Day

On International Women's Day every year, the company gives shower gel to female employees. In addition, employees can participate in a lucky draw to receive many other gifts.

- International Children's Day

The company gives gifts to employees' children. Although these gifts are not of high value, they show the company's concern for the employees' relatives. In addition, employees' children with good academic achievements will be rewarded with gifts worth 200,000 VND/person .

d. Equip knowledge

The company applies this benefit level to employees. This amount is deducted from the welfare fund. The company will pay 50% of the tuition fee for employees to attend foreign language courses: English or Japanese. With a maximum of 4,000,000 VND/person .

The welfare is only for the NVVP sector while there are many workers who need to be equipped with other knowledge but have not been applied.

e. Other services

- Employee transportation: The company has a shuttle bus route for employees in Ho Chi Minh City. These employees do not receive a monthly fuel allowance, but instead receive a distance allowance of 200,000 VND/month .


- Business expenses: The company pays all domestic and foreign bills for the company's business purposes.

- Borrowing company cars: Company employees can borrow company cars on Saturdays for their own purposes. Many employees have organized picnics, contributing to strengthening the relationship between colleagues.


3.2.2.5 Rest mode

a. Working time

- The company works during office hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- Cutting line workers:

- 50 minute lunch break including lunch. 10 minute break in the afternoon.

- Maximum overtime is 2 hours. Of which, workers have 15 extra meals.

The administrative hours help employees have a working rhythm that is suitable for their body, the breaks and travel time is quite long, and the reasonable rest regime helps employees maintain their endurance in production. The number of working days per month is 3.4 days lower than the provisions of the Labor Law, which is a competitive advantage of the company.

b. Maternity leave

The textile industry is a hard working environment, with more special maternity benefits than other industries. Specifically:

In case of miscarriage: Number of days off equals number of weeks of pregnancy.

Pregnant female workers in their 7th month can go home 1 hour early.

Employees with children under 1 year old can leave work 1 hour early.

Maternity leave is applied according to the provisions of the Labor Law. After giving birth, the first 6 months are very important for both mother and newborn. Many organizations have proposed to increase the number of months of maternity leave to 6 months. Working in the garment industry, heavy work with many female workers, but the company only applies according to the provisions of the law. For male employees whose wives give birth, they are entitled to only 1 day of paid leave.

In the recent National Assembly session, the overwhelming majority of opinions agreed with the regulation that female employees are entitled to 6 months of leave before and after giving birth. At the same time, according to the calculation of the Social Insurance Agency, the Social Insurance Fund can be balanced if the maternity leave period is 6 months. Therefore, when there is a specific decision, the company needs to apply it in time to fulfill its responsibility to employees as well as to the State.

c. Vacation mode

- Every year, the company organizes tours for all employees with one year or more of seniority to famous destinations such as Da Nang, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc,... to create opportunities for relaxation, entertainment and labor regeneration.

- The company will cover all vacation expenses for its employees, children under 6 years old are free. The company also organizes tours specifically for singles and families. For long-distance tours, employees will pay an additional 1,000,000-2,000,000 VND/person by deducting 200,000 VND/month from their monthly salary .

For employees who do not participate in the vacation, the company gives a voucher worth 200,000 VND at Big C shopping center. In the context of escalating prices, the value of the voucher is also noted to ensure fairness for everyone.

- In addition, the company chooses March every year to organize the Family Day playground . On March 17, more than 2,000 employees and relatives of the company participated in this playground at Dai Nam-Binh Duong tourist area. With the playground


This time, employees have time to relax, foster family relationships and create closer relationships with colleagues.

Vacation regime is of great concern, in a year the company organizes two vacations to show the concern for the spirit and physical health of employees in order to reproduce the best labor force for the company.

- To encourage the working spirit of employees, the company organizes a prize of a tour to Wacoal Japan for outstanding employees every year. The company also sets criteria for selecting outstanding employees (See Appendix 3).

d. Holiday mode

- Holidays: 9 days and compensated days off when holidays fall on working days.

- Paid personal leave includes:

Employee's own marriage: 3 days. In addition, the company gives a gift of 800,000

VND/person for employees getting married.

Child marriage: 1 day

Death of father, mother, wife or husband, child: 3 days

Death of sibling : 1 day

Holidays are only implemented according to the provisions of the law. Paid personal leave has been noted to be implemented according to the law but is not prominent.


3.3 Non-financial compensation

According to the development speed of society, when the basic needs of employees have been met, certainly in the future, non-financial treatment will create a competitive advantage to help businesses possess a quality labor source to serve production well.


3.3.1 Compensation through the work itself

a. Work instruction sheet

For production workers

- The sewing industry requires meticulousness and precision at each stage. Any semi-product that does not meet the requirements will be returned to the previous stage. Therefore, work instructions have been placed at each stage, illustrating the operations.


Correct and incorrect operations with pictures and writing help workers minimize incorrect operations in production.

- Direct production managers are provided with specialized documents to help quickly handle arising situations that are not fully described in the work instructions.

- Arrange the list of critical errors in many easy-to-observe places, becoming a principle for workers to remember. Twice a day, production department staff read the process of checking production operations and cleaning machines to reduce critical errors.

- Workers are equipped with knowledge of the 5S principle, a principle originating from Japan, to optimize work, help workers save time, improve labor efficiency, and improve product quality.

For office staff

Work is handled according to procedures, each department has clearly defined responsibilities and work requirements. For new employees, the work is still new but there is no specific instruction sheet, mainly training during the probationary period, any arising issues will be guided to resolve by direct management.

Work processes and operations are supported by specific, easy-to-understand, and vivid work instructions suitable for the level of employees at the company.

b. Special offers

- As a human being, everyone wants to be more beautiful, especially women. Clothing is a means to satisfy this basic need. Clothing can help the wearer be more confident in communication and work. Therefore, understanding the psychology of employees with the number of female workers accounting for more than 87%, every Saturday, the company allows employees to freely wear clothes as they like.

- To create favorable working conditions and ensure the best health while working, pregnant female workers are allowed to wear loose clothing from the third month until birth.

- Pregnant workers are allowed to go out during working hours, sick workers are assigned work suitable to their health.Specifically : Pregnant packaging workers are allowed to sit at work or be transferred to simpler tasks.

- Currently, the company's canteen has a separate menu for vegetarians. Employees in the company can register in advance and have it prepared by the kitchen.
