History of Laos (1998), the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies in cooperation with Lao social scientists has successfully researched topics related to the history and culture of Laos from prehistoric times to the present. In which, scientists have researched from the relics of prehistoric and early historical civilizations to the formation of ancient Muongs on Lao land; the Kingdom of Laos Lan Xang in the period of building and defending the country; Laos during the French colonial period (1893 - 1954); The struggle of the Lao people against American neo-colonialism under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
