MEASURES TO MANAGE TEACHING ACTIVITIES BY SUBJECT

PHYSICS OF HIGH SCHOOLS IN TRA ON DISTRICT, VINH LONG PROVINCE

3.1. The bases and principles for proposing measures to manage the teaching of Physics in high schools in Tra On district, Vinh Long province

3.1.1. Basis for establishing measures

3.1.1.1. Legal basis

In the 21st century, with the explosion of scientific and technological knowledge, especially the 4.0 industrial revolution, it requires highly skilled human resources to facilitate the industrialization and modernization of the country associated with the development of the country's knowledge economy. Competition between countries today is essentially competition in human resources, science and technology.

Realizing the urgent issue mentioned above, the 11th Party Central Committee issued Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW, dated November 4, 2013 "On fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training, meeting the requirements of industrialization and modernization in the conditions of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration".

Directive 40-CT/TW dated June 15, 2015 of the Secretariat on building and improving the quality of teachers and educational managers. The Directive clearly stated: "In particular, strongly and fundamentally innovate educational methods to overcome one-way transmission, heavy on theory, low on creative thinking, foster self-study, self-research, self-solving ability, promote creativity for learners... Actively apply creative ways of advanced, modern methods, apply IT to teaching".

The 6th Conference of the 11th Party Central Committee issued Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW dated October 3, 2012 "On the development of science and technology to serve the cause of industrialization and modernization in the conditions of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration" clearly stated: Strongly develop science and technology, making science and technology truly the most important driving force to develop modern productive forces, knowledge-based economy, improve productivity,


quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the economy; environmental protection, ensuring national defense and security, making our country basically become a modern industrialized country by 2020 and a modern industrialized country with socialist orientation by the middle of the 21st century.

The 10th Congress of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term set out the tasks and directions for the development of education and training in the province as: "Developing education, training and vocational training. Taking high-quality human resources as the focus of development" clearly stated: Focus on innovating management work, ensuring democracy, unity, attaching importance to quality while increasing autonomy and social responsibility of educational and vocational training institutions. Strengthening the building of a team of teachers and educational managers with good moral qualities, solid professional and technical qualifications, meeting requirements. Innovating teaching methods, training and fostering human resources with knowledge, creativity, practical skills, career-building ability and good ethics and lifestyle, contributing to improving the quality of human resources.

3.1.1.2. Theoretical and practical basis

Physics is an experimental science, related to many fields such as medicine, technology, energy, engineering, ... widely applied in life. Physics is one of the most important subjects for the development of science and technology, especially experimental science. At high school level, this subject provides a lot of knowledge close to real life, related to many fields such as mechanics, electricity, thermodynamics and optics, a subject that students consider dry, difficult to absorb, difficult to apply and difficult to remember. Therefore, in order for students to enjoy and learn the subject well, teachers must have solid professional knowledge, good pedagogical skills, especially teaching methods that attract students and good practical skills, must be knowledgeable in the field of science and technology, and must be close, caring and understanding of students.

In reality, there are still many Physics teachers at high schools in Tra On district, Vinh Long province who, when preparing lesson plans, rarely update new information into the lessons. The lesson plans are still prepared in the old direction, so when teaching in class, they often impart knowledge to students in a "one-way" way, "Teacher reads - students write" leading to the accumulation of knowledge.


The students' enthusiasm, initiative and creativity are not promoted, students are easily bored with the subject and their learning results are not high. The reason is that the subject teachers have not done a good job of arousing, leading and guiding students to perform well in learning activities such as: self-discovery and problem solving through each lesson content, or doing experiments and drawing out lesson knowledge to understand and remember the lesson for a long time, doing demonstration experiments to verify subject knowledge.

Through the theoretical basis stated in chapter 1, especially the current situation of Physics teaching activities management in high schools in Tra On district, Vinh Long province stated in chapter 2. I realize that the management of Physics teaching activities in schools still has many shortcomings and limitations that affect the improvement of the quality of Physics in particular and the overall quality of education in general of high schools in Tra On district, Vinh Long province.

Faced with the above reality, it is necessary to establish measures to effectively manage Physics teaching activities in high schools in Tra On district, Vinh Long province, contributing to improving the quality of human resources to serve the socio-economic development orientation according to the resolution of the 10th Congress of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, and at the same time contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution No. 29 - NQ/TW.

3.1.2. Principles for proposing measures

3.1.2.1. Principles of ensuring feasibility and effectiveness

The feasibility of the measures shows that the proposed measures can be implemented in the current practical conditions of high schools in Tra On district, Vinh Long province.

3.1.2.2. Principle of ensuring practicality

The practicality of the measures must be consistent with the actual circumstances, conditions and available resources of high schools in Tra On district, Vinh Long province, consistent with the conditions of material facilities - teaching equipment and the characteristics of the Physics subject on the basis of consistency with the Party's educational guidelines and policies and the State's laws and policies.


3.1.2.3. Principles of ensuring system and synchronization

3.2. Some measures to manage Physics teaching activities in high schools in Tra On district, Vinh Long province

3.2.1. Raising awareness of Physics teaching for staff, subject teachers, parents and high school students

3.2.1.1. Purpose of the measure

When awareness of Physics teaching management among managers, teachers, parents and students in schools is raised, it will help managers, teachers, parents and students to be more responsible, more creative and actively participate in Physics teaching activities, thereby improving the quality of the subject.

3.2.1.2. Content and implementation of measures

* Strengthen propaganda and dissemination of the position, role and importance of Physics to managers, teachers, parents and students.

In the first meeting of the pedagogical council of the year, the school leaders fully implemented the educational plan of the Department of Education and Training, directing the implementation of the unit's educational tasks, including the pedagogical council.

In the meeting of the professional group, the school leaders directed the professional group to conduct thematic activities on the importance of Physics in the current period, propose measures to improve the effectiveness of Physics teaching activities to raise awareness for Physics teachers, then organize a school-level workshop to exchange, discuss and replicate. Through this activity, it will help managers and teachers to have a deeper understanding of


management of Physics teaching activities, and at the same time they also clearly see their responsibilities in this work.

In the annual school parent-teacher meetings at the beginning of the school year, school leaders should incorporate content about the current era of rapid scientific and technological development, emphasizing many important applications of Physics used to promote and raise awareness among parents about the position, role and importance of Physics, thereby asking parents to coordinate well with the school in managing and organizing subject teaching activities in the school. Parents are requested to manage students' learning at home closely and effectively.

During flag-raising ceremonies, school leaders directed the organization of extracurricular activities with the theme "Physics and Life" to raise students' awareness of the position, role and importance of Physics.

* Strengthen propaganda and dissemination of the objectives of Physics to managers, teachers and students in high schools.

Through monthly pedagogical council meetings, professional group meetings, parent meetings, and especially weekly flag-raising activities, school leaders integrate propaganda content about the objectives of knowledge, skills, and attitudes of Physics, especially the objective of training skills in applying subject knowledge to solve practical problems in life.

School leaders direct the improvement of the quality of activities of the Physics Club, which is held monthly to disseminate the goals of the department.

* Strengthening the propaganda and education of Physics through teaching and learning activities inside and outside the classroom.

Schools need to do the following jobs well:

Directing the Physics professional group, organizing well teaching activities in the school such as applying IT appropriately, instructing well the experimental lessons, increasing demonstration experiments, teaching creative experiences, etc. to help students acquire knowledge effectively and practice practical skills, skills to apply knowledge to life.


Directing the Youth Union to coordinate with the Physics professional group to regularly organize extracurricular activities such as "Physics and life", "Water rocket shooting", "Fun physics", etc.

* Building awareness, attitude and proper learning motivation for students when studying Physics

Schools need to do the following jobs well:

Develop school regulations that include regulations on students' awareness, attitude, motivation, and learning tools when coming to class.

Direct the professional team to unify regulations on subject learning, doing practical work, making learning materials, etc.

Directing the professional team to write and report on the initiative experience "Some solutions to improve awareness, attitude, and motivation to study Physics for students".

Directly organize well the emulation movements in learning Physics such as "10-point flower", "Physics learning tool making contest" to celebrate major holidays such as November 20; March 26;... summarize, reward and recognize typical examples.

Through the above activities, it will create positive motivation for students to participate in subject learning activities proactively, voluntarily, creatively and effectively.

3.2.1.3. Conditions for implementing measures

To raise awareness among managers, teachers, parents and students about the importance of Physics teaching activities, school leaders need to ensure the following resources: Human resources: need support from experts to train managers and teachers on Physics teaching activities. At the same time, managers and teachers also regularly propagate to parents and students to clearly understand the objectives of Physics teaching activities, promptly remind students to implement them.
