In recent years, many new saponin compounds have been isolated. In 2014, Ho Luong Nhat Vinh isolated 3- O -{ β - D - glucopyranosyl (1→2)-[ β - D - galactopyranosy l(1→4)]- β - D -glucoronopyranosyl} oleanolic acid 28- O -[ β - D - glucopyranosyl (1→2)- β - D -glucopyranosyl] ester from Polyscias fruticosa leaves. In 2016, Nguyen Thi Bich Thu and colleagues isolated the compound falcarindiol for the first time from Polyscias fruticosa roots. In the same year 2016, Tran Thi Hong Hanh and colleagues first isolated 3- O -{ β -D-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)-[ β -D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)]- β -D- glucuronopyranosyl} oleanolic acid 28- O - β -D-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)- β -D- galactopyranosyl ester (from Polyscias fruticosa leaves) and named it polyscioside I (Ho Luong Nhat Vinh, 2014; Nguyen Thi Bich Thu et al. , 2016; Tran Thi Hong Hanh et al. , 2016).
