National cultural identity in Cao Duy Son's works - 15

Artistic elements imbued with national identity such as characters, plot, language. Placing characters in a polarized world with full of vivid and rich depictions of appearance and inner thoughts has made Cao Duy Son's character world both a bit fairy-tale and very real. Not aiming to hide from the harshness of reality, the characters in the writer's works appear with full contrasting strokes: good - bad, kindness - evil, happiness - suffering, nobility - cowardice... That is what makes readers see very clearly the image of the mountain people on each page of literature. The creative inheritance of the traditional plot style with character motifs and happy endings of folk literature has made Cao Duy Son's literary pages both close and imbued with the spirit of humanity and kindness, but still not losing the liveliness and authenticity of the lives and people of contemporary ethnic minorities. The national cultural identity in Cao Duy Son's works is also clearly expressed through the art of language. The writer has absorbed and creatively applied the cultural and folk literature of ethnic groups such as using idioms, proverbs, familiar rhetorical devices in traditional literature of ethnic groups such as comparison, estimation, symbolism, etc. In addition, he also introduced his mother tongue - Tay language into his works. The application of these poetic and folk literature is a natural act originating from the writer's existing knowledge and affection for the precious heritage of his ethnic group. At the same time, this act also demonstrates the consciousness of preserving culture through literature of Tay ethnic writer Cao Duy Son.

In the current period, when the trend of integration and globalization is taking place strongly and widely all over the world, the issue of preserving and promoting national identity is a challenging issue, having vital significance for the future of each nation. In that situation, Cao Duy Son has demonstrated his awareness, courage and personality in discovering, preserving and appreciating the values of national cultural identity through literature. It can be said that, " with tireless exploration and discovery, he has discovered his own path in

"The perception and reflection of the lives and people of ethnic minorities, contributing to clarifying the issues that are being raised for Tay prose in particular and ethnic minority literature in general " [50.33]. Someone has rightly said that: going to the end of the nation will meet humanity. Perhaps that is also the right direction of writer Cao Duy Son on the path to national literature and then from himself to find the world.
