CONCLUDE

In recent years, the Party and the State have paid much attention and invested in the reform and modernization of the Customs sector, in which information technology is one of the top priority areas. Through the development plans of 2001-2005, 2006-2010, 2011-2015, the Customs information system has developed relatively modernly.

For the Customs sector in general and the Department of Information Technology and Customs Statistics in particular, investment projects applying Information Technology are one of the key development contents. IT applications have contributed to creating major changes in the operations of the customs sector, especially in customs clearance and anti-smuggling activities. With the development speed of IT investment projects in the sector, the need for a project management mechanism is inevitable and necessary, to ensure that IT projects meet the requirements of the sector and comply with legal regulations in the field of IT investment. Faced with current work requirements, the Department of Information Technology and Customs Statistics needs to strengthen and continuously innovate management and operation methods to reform and modernize, creating a modern and optimal process in the management of IT projects implemented by the unit. In addition, it is necessary to develop plans and policies to develop resources to promote the strengths of the unit, ensuring project management to serve the development of the Customs sector as well as the entire Finance sector.

Based on the knowledge learned and researched, and applied to practical work, the topic "Management of IT projects at the Department of Information Technology and Customs Statistics" has presented the most basic theoretical issues on project management as well as the current status of IT project management at the unit. Thereby, some solutions are proposed to improve the quality of IT project management.
