Student Satisfaction Level for TVHN Programs

3.5.5. Experimental procedure

The experiment was conducted at Thanh Binh High School from September 2017 to February 2018 according to the following 3-phase process:

Phase 1. Experimental preparation

The experimental sample was 100 12th grade students at Thanh Binh High School, Dong Nai province, divided into two groups, the control group and the experimental group. Each group included 30 females and 20 males; the students' learning results in the previous semester: 20% excellent, 30% fair; 50% average; and the learning conditions were relatively the same.

Prepare a TVHN needs survey form.

TVHN Group plans TVHN to introduce students to the world of careers:

Types of occupations, types of occupations, groups of occupations, existing occupations in the locality in the form of large groups organized throughout the school and plans to organize forums in extracurricular activities on TVHN: Find out the aspirations, tendencies, interests and career plans of students.

Assigned to prepare a survey form for 12th grade students after organizing the introduction to the world of careers and the TVHN forum, a survey form for teachers of Thanh Binh High School, an interview form about the benefits of identifying the needs of TVHN of Thanh Binh High School students, and an interview form about students' feelings after organizing the introduction to the world of careers and the TVHN forum.

Phase 2. Experimental implementation

Step 1. Identify the TVHN needs of high school students

Conduct TVHN for all students in the school about the world of careers: Types of careers, types of careers, groups of careers, and existing careers in the locality during flag-raising hour in the first week of October 2017. How to proceed:

For the control group : No need to determine TVHN needs for students.

For the experimental group: The TVHN team determines the TVHN needs of students: Distribute survey forms on students' TVHN needs to 50 grade 12 students (experimental group) on the 3rd session of the first activities of the 2017 - 2018 school year. Then, collect the survey forms and analyze the needs of these 50 representative students to make a plan to organize TVHN for grade 12 students in the first 6 months of 2017 - 2018, meeting the needs of students.

Step 2. Develop and implement a TVHN plan according to the TVHN needs of high school students. For the control group : No need to develop a plan according to TVHN needs.

of students at the school that is implemented according to the plan to organize TVHN for 50 grade 12 students in the 2017 - 2018 school year, throughout the theme "HAPPINESS IS STUDYING AND DOING THE JOB THAT YOU LOVE" (Appendix 2.1). Students are given TVHN in 1 session according to each group of technical, artistic, social and management occupations based on their feelings and not according to their wishes regarding the content, methods and forms of consultation according to imposed time and location.

For the experimental group:

The Principal/Vice Principal, managers and teachers participating in TVHN plan TVHN activities based on the identified TVHN needs of students. The result of this work is a plan to organize an introduction to the world of careers and organize a TVHN forum for grade 12 students. (Appendix 2.3.)

The principal directed the implementation of the plan to introduce the world of careers and organize a TVHN forum for 12th grade students.

The principal monitors and supervises the implementation of the organization of career introductions and the organization of TVHN forums for grade 12 students.

The TVHN group determines students' interests according to the Holland code using a test (Appendix 1.5). At the same time, students are required to complete this test and remember the test results, and reflect on questions about themselves.

Organize the forum in the following order:

Prepare the forum

Prepare a hall with enough space for about 60 members, including 50 students, 04 TVV (teachers), 01 CBĐTTN, 01 Principal/Vice Principal and parent representatives (if any) to discuss or debate in 4 groups, electrical system, loudspeaker system, sound system and enough microphones for students to use when discussing or asking questions; projector, blackboard and chalk, or whiteboard and markers, theoretical career guidance pictures on the computer for presentation.

The organizers should only gather students into the counseling room 10 minutes before the session begins. This step is performed by the counseling staff.

Organize the forum

The school board representative briefly introduced the objectives of the TVHN session;

The TVV group introduces the career planning model and the career tree theory model, the Holland Code theory linking the career planning model, the career tree theory model, and the Holland Code theory with the system theory model and discusses this content with the students. Arrange the students who need TVHN into 4 career groups according to their choices from 2 survey and multiple choice forms.

Use different forms of activities to attract students' attention and engage them.

Focus on listening to advice. This step requires the consulting team to have a clear understanding of the four groups of interests and career abilities, explain and answer questions about these groups for students, connect those interest groups with suitable majors at colleges, universities or vocational training programs at secondary schools, vocational colleges as well as careers for high school graduates to help students have a strategic view of career orientation.

Guide students to choose a career based on the information they have learned about themselves, compared with the career requirements and social needs that students have learned through career education activities in high school.

The TVHN Board arranges students who need TVHN into 4 career groups: technical group, research group, art group and social group. Then TVHN is provided separately for students according to each of these career groups.

The counselor will search for career suitability for students based on the information obtained, compare it with the students' choices to give advice or comments, and guide students to continue making more accurate choices.

Students record the TVHN results in the list according to the general form.

End of forum:

Synthesize data, collect TVHN forms and list of student groups consulted in each session.

Notice of location and time for collecting opinion forms on student TVHN results and personal TVHN plans at the school counseling room.

Phase 3. Post-experiment

- The questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students were collected.

- Next, the results of the ballots were recorded: Voting ballot for 12th grade students after organizing the introduction to the world of careers and the TVHN forum; Voting ballot for teachers of Thanh Binh High School; Voting ballot for teachers of Thanh Binh High School on the organization and direction of the Principal in coordinating the planning and implementation of TVHN activities for each semester at the high school by managers, homeroom teachers, subject teachers and youth workers; Voting ballot on the benefits of identifying TVHN needs of Thanh Binh High School students; Voting ballot on students' feelings after organizing the introduction to the world of careers and the TVHN forum were compiled.

- Finally, the collected data is processed and analyzed to find the results of the experiment.

3.5.6. Experimental results

Through analysis of data collected from questionnaire and interview surveys, the following experimental results were shown:

Regarding the benefits of identifying the TVHN needs of high school students: The results of interviews with two vice principals and four heads of professional groups show that:

Most 12th grade students are still confused and uncertain about their decisions, not sure whether the career they intend to choose is the right career for them or not, they lack the necessary information to serve as a basis before making a decision. Their understanding of the career they choose as well as the requirements of the career and their ability to meet the requirements of the career is still very limited. This has caused them to have incorrect thoughts in orienting their future careers. Therefore, determining the need for TVHN has practical significance for the team performing TVHN tasks for students, creating favorable conditions for members to participate in planning to complete the TVHN task well. The team participating in TVHN can determine the number of students in need of TVHN, estimate the number of teachers participating in TVHN, choose TVHN content, choose TVHN methods and forms and determine TVHN locations.

In addition, since Decision No. 522/QD-TTg, dated May 14, 2018, of the Prime Minister on approving the Project "GDHN and orientation for student streaming in general education for the period 2018 - 2025" was issued, the identification of students' TVHN needs must be focused on and paid more attention. Based on the identification of students' TVHN needs, the principal directs the TVHN team to select the content, methods and forms of TVHN suitable to the practice of the unit, so that students can self-assess their own advantages.points, weaknesses, from there build for yourself a suitable path of striving, helpingStudents choose a major, career, and school that suits their learning abilities.practice yourself, effectively promote your abilities and strengths after graduation, and seekjobs. At the same time, students are satisfied with their desire to participate in TVHN: information, content, methods and forms; time and number of TVHN sessions; whenever they have difficulties in choosing a major or career . This also means that, after determining the need

With the TVHN of students, the principal has a practical basis to establish and implement the TVHN plan as well as direct, monitor and supervise the implementation of TVHN activities for students.

On the suitability of the plan to organize the introduction of the world of careers and the TVHN forum:

After introducing the world of careers and the TVHN forum to the experimental group (the control group still conducted TVHN as planned), a questionnaire survey was conducted in both groups. The results of TVHN needs, awareness and behavior of students in both groups were as follows:

- The level of interest in TVHN activities of students : Based on the average value that the groups participating in the survey evaluated, we can confirm that the experimental group ( Average score of experimental group : 4.42) paid more attention to this TVHN activity than the control group (Average score of control group : 4.16) as shown in Table 3.5 below:

However, to conclude that the experimental group's interest in TVHN activities is greater than that of the control group (finding the difference in students' opinions between the experimental and control groups), it is necessary to compare the GPA of these two classes. By Independent-sample T-test for two independent samples, with a confidence interval of 95% and a significance level of 5%, the sig value of the t-test in the Equal variances not assumed section is 0.000. This data shows that the sig value of the test is less than the value of α = 0.05, so there is a statistically significant difference in the GPA after the experiment of the experimental class and the control class (sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the level of interest in TVHN activities of the experimental group is greater than that of the control group.

- Students' understanding of the chosen profession: Students in the experimental class have a much higher level of awareness of the chosen profession than the control class. Specifically: Understanding of the chosen profession, of the experimental class is 4.24 and of the control class is 2.84, the difference is 1.4. Most students in the experimental class understand exactly the requirements of the profession, the qualities of the profession, the contraindications in the profession, on the contrary, 52% of students in the control class still do not fully understand the profession they have chosen or they are still vague, do not know what information to look for when choosing a profession. Sig value. (Sig. = 0.371 > 0.05) in the Leneve test, using the sig value of the t-test in the Equal variances assumed section (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05) allows to confirm that students in the experimental group have a certain understanding of the world of occupations, and occupational requirements for workers, about the needs of the labor market, and the development prospects of current occupations (see table 3.6).

- Criteria for choosing a career of students: There is a relatively clear difference in the basis for choosing a career of students, there is a significant difference in percentage between the two groups after the experiment: Students in the experimental group tend to choose criteria that are suitable for their abilities (90%), suitable for their interests (94%) and according to the actual needs of society (86%). On the other hand, factors such as family economic conditions (56%), high income (70%) and easy to find a job later (84%) also have a significant impact on their career choice. Besides, students in the control group also choose criteria like the experimental group, but up to 58% of students still choose a career based on their feelings, the level of choosing criteria is also different compared to the experimental group and the trend of choosing is inclined towards the criteria: easy to find a job (72%), family economic conditions and high income have the same choice level of 70% (see table 3.7)

From Table 3.7, it can be seen that the majority of students in the experimental group had quite reasonable and accurate bases to make decisions about their future careers. This proves that the measures to organize and manage the implementation of TVHN activities according to students' TVHN needs change their perceptions more correctly and bring high efficiency.
