The short story collection Hanoi in my eyes is a collection of 10 different short stories with different characters and themes, but most of them meet in the emotional flow about a Hanoi with a rich culture, customs, about the land and people of Hanoi. Hanoi in my eyes is a regret for the cultural values, the traditions in every house, of the people of the past who are "out of date" before the new changes of the money society. But it is in this transitional situation that good values, like sparkling gems, can be enough to light the way for the next generation. Through this collection of short stories, we can imagine an ancient and beautiful Hanoi of the elegant people of Trang An.

Examining a work from a cultural perspective is a direction that is gaining attention in literary research, it opens up many issues other than literature and also within literature. Receiving a work from a cultural perspective helps us visualize the interweaving and mutual support between culture and literature. Studying literature through a cultural lens therefore has its own difficulties, but when studying in this direction, the researcher seems to return to the source through linguistic signs, narrative tone, character system and artistic space and time, from which he can visualize how a contemporary society is moving.

From a cultural perspective , the short stories collected in the work Hanoi in my eyes sparkle like "golden dust" that adds to the national literature. The characters in the work seem to be "living", expressing their thoughts and concerns about a beloved Hanoi before the economic storm. The collection of stories is an expression of the author's admiration, respect, and belief in the unchanging spiritual values ​​of the people of the capital. And even though in the hustle and bustle of a rapidly changing life, there are cultural values ​​of Hanoi that are gradually fading away, the capital still exists and will forever maintain its cultural depth and thickness as it originally had by Hanoians like Ms. Hien, Mrs. Mam, and the artisans in the village....
