Every year, the organization organizes training and fostering on Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, professional qualifications and skills for reporters, editors and press managers to educate and improve the revolutionary ethics and professional ethics of cadres and members.

2.2.5. Granting and revoking licenses for press activities and press cards

The Director of the Department of Information and Communications assists the Provincial People's Committee in granting licenses to publish newsletters to agencies and organizations in provinces and centrally run cities.

The issuance and renewal of press cards are in accordance with the provisions of the 2016 Press Law and Circular No. 49/2016/TT-BTTTT dated December 26, 2016 of the Ministry of Information and Communications. Accordingly, the Department of Information and Communications no longer has the authority to appraise documents and confirm the list of requests for press cards as before, but assigns this responsibility to the head of the press agency.

Regarding the activities of reporters of press agencies who have not been granted press cards, the Press Law currently has no specific regulations. In these cases, the press agency will issue a work introduction letter.

In addition to the three provincial press agencies licensed to operate by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the province also has newsletters, magazines, information... of departments, branches, organizations and unions. The content of the magazines, newsletters, information... is assessed by the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Department of Information and Communications grants publishing licenses (for each issue). 2.2.6. Management of press information activities of foreign press, foreign representative agencies, and foreign organizations in Gia Lai province

Management of international cooperation in journalism includes management of Vietnamese press activities related to foreign countries and foreign press activities in Vietnam, which are carried out in accordance with the provisions of law and managed by the Government.

International cooperation in journalism is an opportunity for parties to exchange knowledge and experience in journalism with each other. Contacting and working with experts in countries with developed journalism creates conditions for journalists, reporters, and editors.

Reporters, cameramen, photographers, press managers of Vietnam in general and Gia Lai in particular have access to modern journalism, have more creative orientation and thinking, improve professional qualifications and skills; contribute to changing working style and manner to become more professional.

From 2015 to present, at the request of the Press Information Department and the Foreign Press Guidance Center (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), the Provincial People's Committee has approved 16 delegations with 112 foreign reporters, press and television to work in Gia Lai. The main content is to learn about culture, especially the ethnic minority areas with the characteristic of the Central Highlands gong cultural space through filming, reporting, photos and articles. Through these articles, the province promotes the image and people of the Central Highlands in general and Gia Lai in particular. 2.2.7. Checking the archived press, managing the archived press system

According to Article 53 of the 2016 Press Law , the Ministry of Information and Communications shall organize the inspection of archived press. The provincial People's Committee shall organize the inspection of archived press in the locality. In case of detecting press violations of the law, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the provincial People's Committee shall apply handling measures according to the provisions of Article 59 of the Press Law , such as: warning, fine, temporary suspension or revocation of license in press activities, violators may be subject to disciplinary action, revocation of press card, administrative sanctions or criminal prosecution.

Provincial People's Committees shall organize inspections of locally deposited press. In case of detecting press violations of the law, the Ministry of Information and Communications and provincial People's Committees shall apply handling measures according to the provisions of Article 59 of the 2016 Press Law.

Gia Lai province currently has two printed newspapers: Gia Lai Newspaper and Gia Lai Literature and Arts Magazine.

- Gia Lai Newspaper publishes 5 issues/week with a circulation of 11,500 copies/issue. In addition, it publishes photo-newspaper publications in 3 languages: Vietnamese - Jrai - Bahnar with a circulation of 3,000 copies/issue.

- Gia Lai Literature and Arts Magazine under Gia Lai Literature and Arts Association is published once a month.

There are also newsletters from agencies, departments and organizations in the province.

Newspaper publications are stored for 2 years, then transferred to the library to serve readers, contributing to the good implementation of information and propaganda work.

The inspection of deposited press is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the law on deposit work. Instructions are given to individuals and units submitting deposits according to regulations such as: time, quantity, filling out declarations... When receiving deposited publications, professional staff must sign 2 declarations, keep 1 copy with the deposited publications.

2.2.8. Inspection, examination, handling of violations of the law and rewards in journalism

Every year, the Department of Information and Communications coordinates with relevant units to organize periodic inspections of press agencies, representative offices, and resident reporters operating in the province. Besides the positive aspects, some individuals in the process of working in journalism have not complied with the provisions of the law, reflecting unofficial, one-sided, unverified information... affecting public opinion.

Foreign information activities have been synchronously deployed by localities and achieved positive results. Localities in the province have effectively implemented the Foreign Information Plan of Gia Lai province in 2020; thereby promoting the image of Gia Lai widely in the region and the world; at the same time, refuting false information and distorted arguments of hostile forces. Grassroots information activities have achieved positive results in disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, promptly bringing necessary information and knowledge to the people.

Emulation and reward work for the press is always of interest, in order to promptly encourage reporters, journalists, and press agencies in the province. The Journalists Association proposes that the Provincial People's Committee give annual rewards and unexpected rewards on the occasion of events, holidays, and annual anniversaries.

Every year, on the occasion of the anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21, the Provincial Journalists Association organizes a Press Award attracting the participation of a large number of professional and non-professional journalists in the area. The works have reflected diversely, richly, and vividly all fields of economics, politics, culture, etc.

From 2015 to present, members of the Provincial Journalists Association have actively participated in the competition.
