Hanoi needs to propose to the government to reduce import taxes on goods and equipment used in the tourism industry, considering them not as consumer goods but as production materials of the industry to create high-quality tourism products to serve tourists.

Value added tax (VAT) on tourism products at 10% is relatively high, in the accommodation business, electricity and water prices are high, in the tourism business there are many increasing costs such as traffic fees... Some research projects have proposed that the State study reducing the value added tax for the tourism industry to 7%. There should be a policy of VAT refund for foreign tourists at the border gate to stimulate consumption of Vietnamese tourism products.
