INTRODUCTION

1. Reason for choosing the topic

In the context of global international integration today, cultural exchange between countries is an inevitable part of the development process. However, the task of "Preserving national cultural identity" from preserving cultural heritages in the integration process is extremely important. Cultural heritages such as Hue royal court music, Ca Tru, Bac Ninh Quan Ho, Cheo, Tuong ... are unique pieces that create a picture of Vietnamese culture that is not confused with any other country. Preserving and promoting the above cultural heritages, I think, is not only the task of one person but of all Vietnamese people.

Thanh Hoa is a land of outstanding people with many famous landscapes and historical relics. When mentioning Thanh Hoa folk songs, everyone remembers the Dong Anh lantern dance suite, Ho song Ma... However, Thanh Hoa also has many other folk song genres that are equally unique. With the convergence of folk song genres of ethnic minorities, the treasure of Thanh folk music has been enriched, such as: Xuong tunes of the Muong ethnic group, Khap of the Thai ethnic group, lullabies of the Dao ethnic group, antiphonal singing of the Tho ethnic group... Especially Dong Anh folk songs in Dong Anh commune, Dong Son district are known for their famous folk songs and dances.

To preserve its rich folk song treasure, Dong Son district - Thanh Hoa has restored and documented many performances. The problem is to promote the artistic values of folk songs to serve the cause of building an advanced Vietnamese culture with strong national identity.

Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism with 50 years of history of construction and development is gradually innovating, approaching and integrating with the university education system. One of the specific majors

Contributing to the overall achievements of the school is the Vocal Music major. Along with other majors, implementing the innovation of university education of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vocal Music major has also achieved positive results, most recently the program of teaching folk songs (including Dong Anh folk songs) for the Vocal Music University system to preserve the precious intangible cultural heritage left by our ancestors.

Currently, the teaching of Dong Anh folk songs is still limited and inadequate. In the Vocal Music program, there are only a few typical songs, the lecture content is not practical, leading to low absorption and comprehension of students. It is thought that it needs to be supplemented and a more specific teaching program is needed. At the same time, the content of teaching Dong Anh folk songs has not been included in the Vocal Music training program.

As a Vocal Music Lecturer and a native of Thanh Hoa, I find teaching Dong Anh folk songs to students at Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism is extremely necessary. Not only does it provide students with basic knowledge of folk music, equipping them with some typical folk songs that are suitable for their musical abilities as a basis for their future careers, but it also contributes to preserving and promoting the value of Dong Anh folk songs in the integration period.

For the above reasons, I chose the topic: Teaching Dong Anh Folk Songs to vocal music students at Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism to research for my thesis.

2. Research history

In the process of researching this topic, we have surveyed documents including books, theses, dissertations written about folk songs of Dong Anh, Thanh Hoa specifically as follows:

In 1999, Author Dao Viet Hung studied in detail the rhythms of Dong Anh Lamp Dance songs in the book: Studying the rhythms of Vietnamese folk songs in the North Central region . In 2003, Master Nguyen Trung Lien's thesis studied Dong Anh Lamp Dance Music in Thanh Hoa.

Do Thi Thanh Nhan with her PhD thesis Music in traditional festivals of the Vietnamese people in Thanh Hoa has affirmed the uniqueness of Thanh Hoa folk music in general and Dong Anh folk songs in particular through the music and festivals of the Vietnamese people in Thanh Hoa.

In 2016, Nguyen Thi Thanh Van's Master's thesis researched Teaching the Dong Anh Lamp Dance Suite to students of Quang Trung Secondary School, Thanh Hoa City . In the thesis, the author added researches that were similar or in the same direction such as: The concept of folk songs, the origin of Dong Anh folk songs, Dong Son district, Thanh Hoa province (from here on we call it Dong Anh, Dong Son, Thanh Hoa); The system of performances in Dong Anh, Dong Son, Thanh Hoa; Research on the Lamp Dance - Dong Anh Lamp Dance Suite, Dong Son, Thanh Hoa; The value of Dong Anh, Dong Son, Thanh Hoa lamp dance.

In 1988, the group of authors Tran Thi Lien, Pham Van Dau, and Pham Minh Tri published the book Survey of Dong Son Traditional Culture . Here, the authors described many performances in Dong Son, including Dong Anh folk songs.

In 1965, Lam Son group, led by author Vu Ngoc Khanh, edited the book Thanh Hoa Folk Songs . The lyrics and performance method of Dong Anh lantern dance were also described by him.

In addition to documents directly referring to Dong Anh folk songs and Thanh Hoa folk songs, we also surveyed some theoretical documents on vocal teaching methods such as:

Vocal Pedagogy (2001) by teacher Nguyen Trung Kien. The content of the book includes processes, methods, principles
