3.1. Overview of People's Police intermediate schools

3.1.1. People's Police College System

Before April 2020, the Ministry of Public Security had 19 schools, including: 04 academies, 04 universities, 04 colleges, 03 cultural schools and 04 intermediate police schools. Intermediate police schools include:

(i) Armed Police College;

(ii) Police College III;

(iii) V People's Police College;

(iv) VI People's Police College.

The teaching staff of the Police Intermediate Schools are trained in basic skills and meet the standards set by the State and the Police Department. The difference between the teaching staff of the Police Intermediate Schools is that the majority of teachers in specialized departments have graduated from the Police Academy, the Police University or military schools. The time for practical teaching on the training ground or in the professional practice classrooms accounts for over 60% of the class time. This characteristic is also consistent with the training objectives of the intermediate level and requires the teaching staff of the Police Intermediate Schools to have knowledge, practical experience and high practical skills.
