1. Reason for choosing the topic

INTRODUCTION

One of the most important roles of a woman is to be a wife and a mother. When she becomes a wife, she has different feelings than when she was single. But the most dramatic change in a woman’s emotional life is probably after giving birth to her first child.

Doctor Do Hong Ngoc wrote: Each child is a new discovery, a new surprise for us. But anyway, with the first child, we are more confused, more clumsy and more worried... because it is the first time we "suddenly" become parents, our lifestyle and way of thinking are disrupted, we have to deal with daily trivial things: care, bathing, cleaning, dressing, feeding... then there are nights when we forget to sleep, days when we forget to eat,

… [20, p.1]

The first time giving birth, the mother has mixed feelings of joy and sadness, confusion and anxiety, happiness mixed with stress and fatigue. Since giving birth, the woman spends a lot of time with her little child. The birth of the child has a significant impact on emotional relationships with her husband, grandparents, siblings, and friends. Understanding the emotional changes in a woman giving birth for the first time is extremely important and necessary, because the mother's emotional life plays an important role in the psychological development of the child and in the general atmosphere of the whole family.

For the above reasons, we chose our research topic as: “Emotions of first-time mothers”. With the desire to help women better understand their emotions after giving birth, to be able to adjust negative emotions, contributing to improving the general psychological atmosphere of the family.
