The current attraction of Tien Chau Pagoda is not only spiritual, worshiping gods, and the legend of fairies descending to earth, but also because it is a pagoda with beautiful architecture, elaborately carved motifs, and a cool campus that makes people's souls comfortable. Currently, the pagoda has become a prominent cultural and spiritual tourist destination of An Binh Island, always included in the tour by travel companies and will continue to develop to attract the attention of tourists in the future.
Tien Chau Pagoda was recognized as a National Architectural and Artistic Relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1994 (Decision No. 3211-QD, dated December 12, 1994).

of the islanders. Therefore, this indicator will be divided into two sub-indicators:
a1. Natural tourism attractiveness a2. Cultural tourism attractiveness
b. Tourist capacity
The two island communes in Quan Lan have different capacities to receive tourists. Minh Chau Commune is home to many standard hotels and resorts, attracting high-income domestic and international tourists. Meanwhile, Quan Lan Commune has many motels mainly built and operated by local people, so the scale and quality are not high, and will be suitable for ordinary tourists such as students.
c. Time of exploitation of Quan Lan Island Commune:
Quan Lan tourism is seasonal due to weather and climate conditions and festivals only take place on certain days of the year, specifically in spring. In Quan Lan commune, the period from April to June and from September to November is considered the best time to visit Quan Lan because the cultural tourism activities are mainly associated with festivals taking place during this time.
Minh Chau island commune:
Tourism exploitation time is all year round, because this is a place with a number of tourist attractions with diverse ecosystems such as Bai Tu Long National Park Research Center, Tram forest, Turtle Laying Beach, so besides coming to the beach for tourism and vacation in the summer, Minh Chau will attract research groups to come for tourism combined with research at other times of the year.
d. Sustainability
The sustainability of ecotourism sites in Quan Lan and Minh Chau communes depends on the sensitivity of the ecosystems to climate changes.
landscape. In general, these tourist destinations have a fairly high level of sustainability, because they are natural ecosystems, planned and protected. However, if a large number of tourists gather at certain times, it can exceed the carrying capacity and affect the sustainability of the environment (polluted beaches, damaged trees, animals moving away from their habitats, etc.), then the sustainability of the above ecosystems (natural ecosystems, human ecosystems) will also be affected and become less sustainable.
e. Location and accessibility
Both island communes have ports to take tourists to visit from Van Don wharf:
- Quan Lan – Van Don traffic route:
Phuc Thinh – Viet Anh high-speed boat and Quang Minh high-speed boat, depart at 8am and 2pm from Van Don to Quan Lan, and at 7am and 1pm from Quan Lan to Van Don. There are also wooden boats departing at 7am and 1pm.
- Van Don - Minh Chau traffic route:
Chung Huong high-speed train, Minh Chau train, morning 7:30 and afternoon 13:30 from Van Don to Minh Chau, morning 6:30 and afternoon 13:00 from Minh Chau to Van Don.
f. Infrastructure
Despite receiving investment attention, the issue of infrastructure and technical facilities for tourism on Quan Lan Island is still an issue that needs to be resolved because it has a direct impact on the implementation of ecotourism activities. The minimum conditions for serving tourists such as accommodation, electricity, water, communication, especially medical services, and security work need to be given top priority. Ecotourism spots in Minh Chau commune are assessed to have better infrastructure and technical facilities for tourism because there are quite complete and synchronous conditions for serving tourists, meeting many needs of domestic and foreign tourists.
3.2.1.4. Determine assessment levels and assessment scales
Corresponding to the levels of each criterion, the index is the score of those levels in the order of 4, 3, 2, 1 decreasing according to the standard of each level: very attractive (4), attractive (3), average (2), less attractive (1).
3.2.1.5. Determining the coefficients of the criteria
For the assessment of DLST in the two communes of Quan Lan and Minh Chau islands, the students added evaluation coefficients to show the importance of the criteria and indicators as follows:
Coefficient 3 with criteria: Attractiveness, Exploitation time. These are the 2 most important criteria for attracting tourists to tourism in general and eco-tourism in particular, so they have the highest coefficient.
Coefficient 2 with criteria: Capacity, Infrastructure, Location and accessibility . Because the assessment area is an island commune of Van Don district, the above criteria are selected by the author with appropriate coefficients at the average level.
Coefficient 1 with criteria: Sustainability. Quan Lan has natural and human-made ecotourism sites, with high biodiversity and little impact from local human factors. Most of the ecotourism sites are still wild, so they are highly sustainable.
3.2.1.6. Results of DLST assessment on Quan Lan island
a. Assessment of the potential for natural tourism development
For Minh Chau commune:
+ Natural tourism attractiveness is determined to be very attractive (4 points) and the most important coefficient (coefficient 3), so the score of the Attractiveness criterion is 4 x 3 = 12.
+ Capacity is determined as average (2 points) and the coefficient is quite important (coefficient 2), then the score of Capacity criterion is 2 x 2 = 4.
+ Exploitation time is long (4 points), the most important coefficient (coefficient 3) so the score of the Exploitation time criterion is 4 x 3 = 12.
+ Sustainability is determined as sustainable (4 points), the important coefficient is the average coefficient (coefficient 1), so the score of the Sustainability criterion is 4 x 1 = 4 points
+ Location and accessibility are determined to be quite favorable (2 points), the coefficient is quite important (coefficient 2), the criterion score is 2 x 2 = 4 points.
+ Infrastructure is assessed as good (3 points), the coefficient is quite important (coefficient 2), then the score of the Infrastructure criterion is 3 x 2 = 6 points.
The total score for evaluating DLST in Minh Chau commune according to 6 evaluation criteria is determined as: 12 + 4 + 12 + 4 + 4 + 6 = 42 points

b. Assessment of the potential for humanistic tourism development
For Quan Lan commune:
+ The attractiveness of human tourism is determined to be very attractive (4 points) and the most important coefficient (coefficient 3), so the score of the Attractiveness criterion is 4 x 3 = 12.
+ Capacity is determined to be large (3 points) and the coefficient is quite important (coefficient 2), then the score of the Capacity criterion is 3 x 2 = 6.
+ Mining time is average (3 points), the most important coefficient (coefficient 3) so the score of the Mining time criterion is 3 x 3 = 9.
+ Sustainability is determined as sustainable (4 points), the important coefficient is the average coefficient (coefficient 1), so the score of the Sustainability criterion is 4 x 1 = 4 points.
+ Location and accessibility are determined to be quite favorable (2 points), the coefficient is quite important (coefficient 2), the criterion score is 2 x 2 = 4 points.
+ Infrastructure is rated as average (2 points), the coefficient is quite important (coefficient 2), then the score of the Infrastructure criterion is 2 x 2 = 4 points.
The total score for evaluating DLST in Quan Lan commune according to 6 evaluation criteria is determined as: 12 + 6 + 6 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 36 points.

Basically, both Minh Chau and Quan Lan localities have quite favorable conditions for developing ecotourism. However, Quan Lan commune has more advantages to develop ecotourism in a humanistic direction, because this is an area with many famous historical relics such as Quan Lan Communal House, Quan Lan Pagoda, Temple worshiping the hero Tran Khanh Du, ... along with local festivals held annually such as the wind praying ceremony (March 15), Quan Lan festival (June 10-19); due to its location near the port and long exploitation time, the beaches in Quan Lan commune (especially Quan Lan beach) are no longer hygienic and clean to ensure the needs of tourists coming to relax and swim; this is also an area with many beautiful landscapes such as Got Beo wind pass, Ong Phong head, Voi Voi cave, but the ability to access these places is still very limited (dirt hill road, lots of gravel and rocks), especially during rainy and windy times; In addition, other natural resources such as mangrove forests and sea worms have not been really exploited for tourism purposes and ecotourism development. On the contrary, Minh Chau commune has more advantages in developing ecotourism in the direction of natural tourism, this is an area with diverse ecosystems such as at Rua De Beach, Bai Tu Long National Park Conservation Center...; Minh Chau beach is highly appreciated for its natural beauty and cleanliness, ranked in the top ten most beautiful beaches in Vietnam; Minh Chau commune is also home to Tram forest with a large area and a purity of up to 90%, suitable for building bridges through the forest (a very effective type of natural ecotourism currently applied by many countries) for tourists to sightsee, as well as for the purpose of studying and researching.

3.2.2. Using SWOT matrix to evaluate Quan Lan island tourism
General assessment of current tourism activities of Quan Lan island is shown through the following SWOT matrix:
Table 3.5: SWOT matrix evaluating tourism activities on Quan Lan island
Internal agent
Strengths- There is a lot of potential for tourism development, especially natural ecotourism and humanistic ecotourism.- The unskilled labor force is relatively abundant.- resource environmentunpolluted, still
Weaknesses- Poorly developed infrastructure, especially traffic routes to tourist destinations on the island.- The team of professional staff is still weak.- Tourism products in general
quite wild, originalintact
general and DLST in particularalone is monotonous.
External agents
Opportunity- Tourism is a key industry in the socio-economic development strategy of the province and Van Don economic zone.- Quan Lan was selected as a pilot area for eco-tourism development within the framework of the green growth project between Quang Ninh province and the Japanese organization JICA.- The flow of tourists and especially ecotourism in the world tends toincreasing
Challenge- Weather and climate change abnormally.- Competition in tourism products is increasingly fierce, especially with other localities in the province such as Ha Long, Mong Cai...- Awareness of tourists, especially domestic tourists, about ecotourism and nature conservation is not high.
Through summary analysis using SWOT matrix we see that:
To exploit strengths and take advantage of opportunities, it is necessary to:
- Diversify products and service types (build more tourism routes aimed at specific needs of tourists: experiential tourism immersed in nature, spiritual cultural tourism...)
- Effective exploitation of resources and differentiated products (natural resources and human resources)

Tourism Development Situation of Vinh Long Province -
Sustainable tourism development in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province - 16
Presently, the mausoleum and tomb of the Commander-in-Chief Dieu Bat are located at Thanh Bach mound, My Hoa hamlet, Thien My commune, about two kilometers from Tra On town. This entire area is on an open land, surrounded by many tall shady trees and beautiful fruits. The temple area has three buildings: the main hall, the martial arts hall and the guest house. All the architectural works are made of wood. The mausoleum worships the Commander-in-Chief Dieu Bat and his wife and famous people such as Left Army Le Van Duyet, Binh Tay General Truong Dinh, Binh Tay Deputy General Nguyen An (Deputy General Truong Dinh, after his defeat in Go Cong, returned to continue the uprising and died in Tra On). Hero Nguyen Trung Truc, Commander-in-Chief Dieu Bat Nguyen Van Ton were awarded the title of Trung Dang Than by the Nguyen Dynasty in 1944.
Every year, at the Mausoleum of Commander-in-Chief Nguyen Van Ton, there are the following holidays:

- Death anniversary of the former military commander: 16th and 17th of the second lunar month.
- Death anniversary of Deputy Marshal Nguyen An, death anniversary of the ancestors and descendants: December 20.
But the most important holiday is the death anniversary of the Commander-in-Chief Nguyen Van Ton on the third and fourth days of the first lunar month. During these days, thousands of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Khmer people from Tra On, Cau Ke, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, etc. come to attend. The death anniversary of the Commander-in-Chief is meant to be a blessing ceremony on these days.
early spring. Commander-in-Chief Nguyen Van Ton became the god of the three ethnic groups Vietnamese, Chinese and Khmer in Tra On. Currently, this place is a tourist destination that attracts a large number of domestic visitors during Tet holidays. However, due to limitations in tourism products, this place has not yet developed strongly in tourism and cannot be exploited according to tourist tours.
The Ministry of Culture and Information issued a decision to rank Lang Ong as a national historical and cultural relic on February 13, 1996. (Decision No. 310-QD dated February 13, 1996).
* Cua Huu Banyan Tree Relic
According to Dai Nam Nhat Thong Chi and Gia Dinh Thanh Thong Chi, in February of Quy Dau year, the 12th year of Gia Long reign (1813), the Hue court ordered the Imperial Commissioner Luu Phuoc Tuong of Vinh Thanh town to build the citadel. The citadel is located in Ward 1, Vinh Long city today. The citadel is built of earth, the main gate faces Southeast, the back faces Northwest. The citadel's perimeter is 750 truong wide (one truong is equal to 3 feet), 1 truong high, 2.5 truong thick. Around the citadel there is a wide moat and a deep river. After the devastation, fortunately, in front of the Right gate of Vinh Long citadel, there was a surviving banyan tree. The people preserved and protected the banyan tree, calling it the Huu gate banyan tree to leave a mark and remember the ancient Vinh Long citadel.
In the 50s, the mother banyan tree - the only trace of the old Vinh Long citadel - was destroyed. From the mother tree grew a young banyan tree that grew well and exists to this day. This is the highlight that visitors to Vinh Long want to see with their own eyes the wonders of nature. However, this place is only a place for people in the province as well as tourists to visit, and there are no organized tours or rich tourism products to attract tourists.
On December 1, 2000, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to recognize Cua Huu Banyan Tree as a provincial historical and cultural relic.
* Long Thanh Communal House
Long Thanh Communal House is currently located in Hamlet B, Ward 5 - Vinh Long city, about three kilometers from the city center, on the bank of Long Ho river.
Every year, Long Thanh communal house has two big festivals: Ha Dien festival on the 14th and 15th of the third lunar month and Thuong Dien festival on the 16th and 17th of the tenth lunar month. Compared to the two festivals, Ha Dien festival is more solemn than Thuong Dien festival. On this festival, Long Thanh communal house attracts a large number of people from the locality and other places to attend. In particular, Long Thanh communal house still preserves traditional rituals such as Tuc Yet, Chanh Te, Tien Hien, Hau Hien, building the court, great boi, and returning the court. The communal house's sacrificial text, originally written by Mr. Le Quang Nguyen, former Governor of Ha Tien (Tu Duc period), is still in use today. However, due to limited area, the communal house only attracts a large number of domestic tourists on big holidays and has not created many products to attract regular visitors.
Long Thanh Communal House was recognized as a National Historical - Cultural Relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information on March 25, 1991 (Decision No. 457 QD dated March 25, 1991).
* Tan Hoa Communal House
Tan Hoa Communal House used to belong to Vinh Binh District, Dinh Vien Prefecture, now located in Tan Hung Hamlet, Tan Hoa Commune, Vinh Long City. Tan Hoa Communal House is located on the bank of Tien River, facing Cai Doi Canal, so people often call it Cai Doi Communal House. Today, this communal house is opposite My Thuan Bridge, a suitable location for tourists to admire the scenic spots.
Most notable is the precious wooden truss, the large communal house pillars, one person cannot hug them. The inside of the communal house is very wide, from three to four meters. In particular, the parts just mentioned in the martial arts hall, where many people gather, are often carved with artistic motifs. For example, the four frog-leg trusses are usually carved into the shape of dragons. The truss body is the dragon body. The leaves supporting the last arm of the roof are transformed into dragon heads. It can be said that this is a strange technical feature, beautiful in aesthetics, and its load-bearing capacity is not reduced.
Tan Hoa Communal House is an architectural work of art, a testament to a rather long historical period. Through many ups and downs since our ancestors began to reclaim land, establish hamlets and villages, however, no matter the circumstances, our fathers
We still try to preserve cultural heritage. Therefore, Tan Hoa communal house was recognized as a national historical-cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1998.
Currently, the temple is always open for visitors to come and learn about ancient architecture and sculptures combined with a view of My Thuan Bridge from the riverbank, so it will continue to attract tourists in the future.
* Long Ho Temple
The relic is located in Hamlet 4 - Ward 4 - Vinh Long city.
The attraction here is the scenery inside and outside the communal house. In 1852, Long Ho communal house was granted the title "Bon Canh Thanh Hoang" by King Tu Duc.
Nowadays, although the communal house is not exploited for tourism purposes, on festival days, many people and tourists from near and far come to worship.
Long Ho Communal House was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a provincial historical and cultural relic under Decision No. 3438/QD-UBT dated December 20, 2000.
* Toa Sen Pagoda
Toa Sen Pagoda is located in Hoa Thanh Hamlet, Dong Thanh Commune, Binh Minh District, Vinh Long Province. The total area of the pagoda is 17,780 square meters. The pagoda has a spacious, airy campus, with a garden of ancient trees and fruit trees. The architectural works are built of reinforced concrete, this is a highlight of the Toa Sen Pagoda that is difficult for any other pagoda in the area to have. Today, Toa Sen Pagoda is not only a place of worship for the local people but also receives investment from the authorities of Binh Minh District to contribute to attracting tourists to Binh Minh.
Toa Sen Pagoda was recognized as a provincial-level relic by the Provincial People's Committee (Decision No. 892/QD-UB, dated April 8, 2004).
* Seven Palace Temple
That Phu Assembly Hall (Vinh An Palace) is located at Area A, Ward 5, Vinh Long City today. This is a valuable architectural work in the province, headed by architect Ha Tao.
The construction parts here are carved elaborately, both realistic and stylized, and painted in five colors or gilded. Occasionally, in some places between those delicately carved parts, there are also gaps, where the artists put up pictures of historical figures. Therefore, this area is elaborate but not boring. It can be said that this is an outstanding work of art not only for Vietnamese works, but also for Chinese works.
The interior of Vinh An Palace is beautifully decorated. It can be said that nowhere else has dozens of sets of panels, parallel sentences, and horizontal lacquered boards with exquisite carvings and gilded lacquer as brightly as here. Every year, on the festival days, thousands of people come to worship at That Phu Temple, attracting not only Chinese people, but also local Vietnamese people.
That Phu Temple was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a national historical and cultural relic (Decision No. 152 QD/BT, January 25, 1994). This is a favorable factor to strongly attract investment for development as well as ensure the longevity of the temple.
* Temple of Merit
According to Dai Nam Nhat Thong Chi, the Cong Than Mieu (Hoi Dong Temple) of Vinh Long was built in the 17th year of Minh Mang (1837) in Thanh My Dong village, Vinh Binh district. Folklore often calls this temple Dinh Khao because it is said that the old mandarins often chose this place to hold banquets and give rewards. Since its reconstruction, the temple has been officially named "Cong Than Linh Mieu", becoming a place of folk worship.
This is a local deity system, including cultural symbols, symbols of the sacred energy of mountains and rivers. It can be said that the Vinh Long Temple of the Gods is a "monument" commemorating 300 years of culture of this land. Therefore, on August 31, 1998, the Ministry of Culture and Information issued Decision No. 1811-QD recognizing the Temple of the Gods as a national cultural relic.
2.2.2.2. Tourist areas
Currently, in Vinh Long province, there are many tourist areas that are operating strongly and attracting a large number of tourists. The tourist areas here also have diverse forms of activities such as: Eco-tourism areas, farm tourism areas, tourist areas with activities.
entertainment activities, or event organization... the active tourist areas create an important premise to help Vinh Long develop its tourism brand, typical tourism products in the province. Typical tourist areas such as: Vinh Sang Farm Tourist Area, Mekong-Dong Phu Tourist Area, An Binh Eco-tourism Area, Truong An Tourist Area.
a. Vinh Sang Farm Tourist Area
Vinh Sang tourist area has an area of 2.2 hectares located right at the beginning of An Binh Islet in An Thuan Hamlet - An Binh Commune - Long Ho District. This area is like a large natural garden with many types of fruit trees and interconnected canals.
At Vinh Sang, visitors can participate in the thrilling game of fishing for crocodiles 5 years old or older. Visitors can bait and fish for crocodiles themselves.
There is also a flock of African ostriches with more than 60 adults. In the fresh nature of the Southwest, visitors can freely ride ostriches running freely on the sand. This is the largest bird species in the world, raised and developed right in the middle of the Mekong Delta, this is also a very popular service here.
In addition to those exciting and thrilling games, you can also participate in rowing, netting, fishing or scooping fish... the fresh freshwater fish will be even more attractive when visitors prepare grilled fish by themselves to enjoy right in the garden with pure sticky rice wine or Dao Tien wine, immersing themselves in the rustic life of the people of the river region, visitors can also enjoy smooth folk songs through the form of Don ca tai tu, which will definitely bring visitors a feeling of comfort in a truly peaceful space.
If you have more time, stay overnight at Vinh Sang with riverside bedrooms. The materials of the motel are made from coconut wood, the rooms are fully equipped with hotel standards right in the middle of a pure natural setting.
At Vinh Sang tourism, visitors can also participate in other activities such as: river bathing - water sliding, young people can ride bicycles around the village road through the fruit gardens on Cu Lao An Binh... will definitely bring visitors
unforgettable feelings during the holidays in the Mekong Delta countryside. From Vinh Sang tourism, tourists take a cruise ship deep into the small canals, visiting the famous traditional craft villages of the Southern garden located along the river. Tourists can enjoy the traditional coconut candy making of the people of An Binh island at Vinh Sang tourist area, enjoying the sweet and fragrant coconut candy. In addition, tourists can also visit the red pottery kiln - a traditional, famous and unique craft village only found in Vinh Long.
In order to meet the entertainment needs of tourists, the tourist area has recently invested in building a two-way grass sliding system. This is a fun game that attracts a large number of tourists to participate.
Promotional activities of the tourist area are also promoted: building a separate website, the tourist area is always included in the tours of all travel companies in Vinh Long and some travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City, so this place has become a quite famous tourist area in the Mekong Delta region and in the future it will certainly develop more and more strongly.
b. Mekong-Dong Phu tourist area
7 km by water from Vinh Long city is Mekong-Dong Phu tourist area, in Dong Phu commune, Long Ho district. The special and unique feature up to now is that this model combines eco-tourism and visiting catfish ponds. Located in the middle of Tien river, the only means of transportation here is by canoe or boat, creating a unique feature of the tourist area.
From a distance, Dong Phu sandbank looks like an alluvial land with some fine sand dunes, the color is slightly lighter, showing that the sandbank has more sand than mud. There are few places along the Hau River that have good sandbanks because the river carries too much alluvium, so most of the alluvial land is mud. With an area of more than 2 hectares interspersed with dozens of catfish and basa fish ponds, Mekong - Dong Phu eco-tourism area is suitable for outdoor vacations with water games and other outdoor activities. Visitors can participate in activities on the river by canoe, jet ski, paddle boat, banana boat for groups of 4 to more than 10 people. In particular, this place also has a conservation area for species.
natural freshwater aquatic products of the Mekong River. Many species of fish gather here to eat leftovers from raising tra and basa fish. Therefore, visitors can fish on the river themselves, including freshwater aquatic products that are specialties of the Mekong Delta such as catfish, silver pomfret, giant freshwater prawns, etc., creating excitement for visitors, especially urban visitors.
