3.2.6 Strengthening library facilities and equipment

The facilities and equipment of the Information and Communications Center of the University of Transport and Communications have been initially modernized, however, the basic facilities system still cannot meet the needs of developing a system of information and communications products and services in the current period. Strengthening the facilities and library equipment in the coming time is extremely necessary and needs to be carried out as follows:

- Speed ​​up the installation of Libol 6.0 library management software, ensuring quick and smooth library operations.

- Speed ​​up the construction of electronic libraries.

- The library invests funds to purchase equipment for organizing open storage and equipment for photocopying services of original library documents.

- Equip some means of transporting documents in the library such as carts and conveyor belts to reduce the load and improve the productivity of library staff.

- Complete the construction of the library's website as a portal connecting the library with the outside world so that users can easily access and use information and communication products and services, as well as carry out inter-library loan linkages.

- The electronic library is synchronized with computers for searching. However, according to NDT's assessment, the electronic reading room system is very hot, it is necessary to equip an air conditioning system to cool the computer room, creating a favorable atmosphere and environment for research and study for NDT.

In recent times, the development of the University of Transport Technology Library has been closely associated with the development of the University of Transport Technology. During its development, the Library has always set out plans to develop and innovate Library activities under the direction of the School Board of Directors.

In the coming time, with the attention of the school's leaders, the library of the University of Transport Technology will have remarkable developments, especially in information and library products and services, meeting the information needs more and more effectively, gradually becoming a modern library model in the library system of universities nationwide, promoting integration with libraries in the country and around the world.
