2.2. Operating principle of the electrical system

When the engine is running, the belt drives the generator pulley to rotate, driving the generator shaft to rotate the electromagnet, creating a magnetic field that continuously surrounds the generator coil, generating an electric current to the headlight bulb to light up.

3. Damage to the electrical system

- The generator is broken and does not generate electricity due to a broken coil.

- The generator supplies lower voltage than specified due to short circuit in the coil or dirt inside the generator.

4. Generator maintenance

* Remove the generator

Use socket to remove fan guard


Remove the fan drive belt

Remove the bolts holding the fan and generator.


Lift out the fan and generator.

Unplug the electrical connector and lift the transmitter.


Remove the drive pulley nut


Remove the pulley


Remove the generator shaft


Remove the electromagnet

Clean the generator

Clean the electromagnet with a rag.

Clean the alternator coil with


Cleaning electromagnets with air

Clean the coil with compressed air


* Install generator

Attach the electromagnet to the coil.

Install drive pulley


Tighten the pulley lock nut


Install the fan and generator into the radiator


Tighten the generator mounting bolts


Install drive belt


Install fan guard


Adjust fan belt

* Check and replace light bulbs


Remove the light bulb

Remove the bolts holding the light box cover.


Lift the light box cover out.
