INTRODUCTION

1. Urgency of the topic.

The 21st century is the century of information and communication technology, along with its applications, the volume of international trade goods is increasing. E-commerce is one of the fields that is becoming increasingly popular and developing strongly in developed countries around the world.

In Vietnam today, e-commerce has begun to develop in large enterprises. As for small and medium enterprises, especially traditional craft villages, they are still quite hesitant about e-commerce. Meanwhile, the number of small and medium enterprises in Vietnam today is a significant number.

Among the main export items of Vietnam today, the main ones are agricultural, forestry and fishery products, newly processed products, and products produced in traditional craft villages. The transactions of these enterprises are mainly still in the traditional trade method, not applying e-commerce to find partners.

Vietnam-China trade relations are no exception. Although the authorities of both countries have made many efforts to promote trade relations between the two countries by building e-commerce portals. However, these e-commerce portals are still not operating effectively and have not provided much support for businesses of the two countries.

Given the above reality, I chose my thesis topic as: “ Building and developing the Vietnam - China e-commerce portal (www.vietnamchina.net)

2. Purpose of the topic

Based on the study of aspects of B2B e-commerce as well as previous B2B e-commerce portal models between Vietnam and China, solutions are proposed to build a new B2B e-commerce portal to support small and medium enterprises as well as traditional craft villages of Vietnam in exporting goods.

3. Research object and scope

Vietnam - China e-commerce portals.

4. Thesis layout

In addition to the introduction, conclusion, and references, this thesis consists of three chapters:

Chapter I: Overview of B2B e-commerce and B2B e-commerce portal.

Chapter II: Current status of construction and development of Vietnam - China B2B e-commerce portal.

Chapter III: Solutions to continue building and strengthening the Vietnam - China B2B e-commerce portal.

Because e-commerce is still a relatively new field, and in the process of writing this thesis, the individual has many limitations in terms of time and experience, so it is inevitable that there will be shortcomings. We look forward to receiving guidance from teachers as well as contributions from friends to make this thesis more complete.

I would like to sincerely thank Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Duy Lien for his direct and dedicated guidance in helping me complete this thesis!

Thank you very much!
