His mother had just finished wearing mourning clothes, but now his aunt was gone forever.

Previously, the brave and heroic Nguyen Tuong Cong (4) , met with disaster and died without hunger, his heroic spirit was majestic, so that people admired him. (In the year of the Rooster, Ha Thanh fell, Nguyen Tuong Cong did not eat for a month and died. Later, Trung Liet Temple was built in the temple inside the city.) Now, the Duke has carved out the land of his responsibility, and sworn to himself, to save the city. His spirit and loyalty are like this, although they have been enemies of the past and present, but he is the symbol of loyalty and righteousness. The Duke's loyalty and righteousness are majestic, even in the Nung Son Nhi Thuy. Who is the same as Trung Liet Temple? Those who do not have great ambitions and achievements cannot be completely defeated. But the reputation of loyalty and righteousness is respected by the world. Those who are sad and heartbroken by this lightning and fierceness cannot be counted.

The court assigned him the task of guarding the border, governing and protecting the people. After three years in office, suddenly the enemy used the pretext (1) (which was just an excuse for their acts of invasion and massacre) to show off their military might, so a war broke out at the border. Therefore, our enemies fought each other, the earth and sky shook, the sound echoed through the mountains and rivers, and the sound of thunder and lightning.
At that time, he decided to defend the citadel with his army alone, without anyone to rescue him at first, and without any reinforcements later. Did he not know that it would be difficult to resist, but he still enthusiastically went up to the citadel to fight the enemy. Until he was exhausted, he heroically committed suicide in front of the enemy. His colleagues who followed him, some ran up the mountain, some dived into the river, but none could escape (later, I heard that the Prefects, Admirals and Military Commanders hid in wells, some sneaked into the forest but were also unable to escape). Everyone said that he committed suicide to keep his loyalty. But few people understood that his loyalty originated from filial piety. Looking at his recent memorial, there was a sentence: “Not being loyal to the king is not fulfilling filial piety.” (Last month, he wrote a memorial after his mother was granted a sum of silver silk and three cinnamon trees by the king. The last sentence said: “Not being loyal to the king is not fulfilling filial piety. How dare you let your mother feel ashamed. I will not refuse anything that is useful to the country. It is only a small return for what the king has granted me.”) Thus, filial piety transformed into loyalty, it became his nature. Therefore, he was always enthusiastic and energetic in everything he did. He did not fear difficulties, he risked his life in danger. He never thought of life and death, he never hesitated in advancing or retreating. Confucius called him “Thanh Nhan”, Mencius called him “Thu Nghia”, he had almost achieved that, and it was hard for anyone in the world to compare.
In the past, General Nguyen was extremely heroic, when he was in trouble he fasted and died. He was majestic and dignified, everyone admired him (in the year of Quy Dau, Ha Thanh fell, General Nguyen died by fasting for a month. Later, the king ordered the establishment of Trung Liet temple to worship him). Now, he is determined to fight the enemy to defend the land, vowing to fight to the death with the enemy, to survive with the citadel. His spirit is comparable to General Nguyen. Although the situation before and after is different, the loyalty and righteousness are the same. The General's heroic spirit of loyalty and righteousness will forever shine in the Nung mountains and Nhi rivers, and will leave its light in Trung Liet temple.
It is a pity that the great ambition was not realized, the project was not completed. Only the spirit of loyalty remains forever with the mountains and rivers. Now, my heart is filled with shame, regret and endless longing.
